The last card, update 4

I'm trying to catch up on a handful of blog series that I've let stagnate for a year or more. You'll probably see a run of these, though I'm not going to publish them all consecutively. I'll space it out pretty good, especially since a couple take awhile to do (a big reason why they've stagnated).   Five years ago I wrote a post about the last card , which was me determining the last card I needed to finish all of my sets. Fueled by recommitting to completing sets in 2019, I listed (and pictured) all of the cards that were the final piece of the puzzle for a bunch of sets.   I said I'd update that post as other completed sets came to mind or were completed. And I did update it with a post one year later and then another post two years later. Then I stopped.   But my set completing definitely didn't stop. In fact it's picked up steam. It has been my No. 1 goal, surpassing my quest for every Dodgers card or landing packs of whatever new set has arriv...

The last card, update 3 ... and an update on the 1993 UD blog

It's been very bleak outside all day, just dark, grim, wind howling, the worst conditions for taking photographs of baseball cards.   I'm also still recuperating from yesterday's work day, a pretty exhausting and challenging one. So, there won't be too much effort in this post. I hope you still find it interesting.   I've wanted to add onto the blog more "last cards"' for the sets I've completed. The last update was more than a year ago. I keep trying to finish this project off all in one more post, but -- oops -- I've completed so many sets, I can't make the post that long.   So, you'll see another one of these in the future. Probably another one after that.   Like always, I'll add these "last cards" to the original "last cards" post I did two years ago .   So here are the latest final cards to arrive for me to finish a set:   1979 Kellogg's   You just saw these guys in October. In fact, I'll be mentio...

The last card, addendum

A year ago, I wrote a post about the last card , that final, elusive item to complete a set. I listed the final cards for several of the sets that I've completed over the years. I said that I would add more "last cards" to that post as I complete more sets or for sets I've already finished but didn't mention in that post. Of course I haven't done that yet. I will do so however after I finish this post, which is an addendum to that last card post. I just finished the 2003 Topps Fan Favorites set with the Dennis Eckersley card above and I've completed a good amount of sets since I wrote that original post. I've actually been on a set-completing streak since 2019.   Here is the last card I needed for a few recent completions:   2008 Stadium Club: Justin Upton This was completed in 2019, eleven years after it was issued. Also I had to settle for the "first day issue" parallels for several cards because they were easier to find than the base car...
