What 868 Eric Karros cards from 1992 Upper Deck looks like

Back when bipping was all the rage, I got bipped about seven or eight times. The most of one single card I received was 64 1990 Donruss Diamond King Bryn Smith cards. At the time, that was considered epic . Ha, ha, who in their right mind collected 64 of the same card of Bryn Smith? People couldn't get over it. But that was the tail end of bipping. For the most part, peace settled over the card land and has reigned for the last five years or so. If you see a bipping nowadays it's quickly snuffed out and reported to authorities. We are living in a society here. This is pretty much understood by everyone who operates a card blog or reads one. We have made progress. We have evolved. We moved on from bipping to bitching about squirrels on cards, to bitching about online exclusives, to tweeting about trades, to tweeting about fake digital cards of Star Wars characters. This is evolution, everyone! We can't go back! So, please tell me what the hell is this: I am n...

Resistance is futile

One thing that I have learned from operating a popular blog is that people actually do read the words that I write. However, when they extract the meaning from those words, it is sometimes what they want it to mean, not what I want it to mean. For example, I fully expect to receive Donruss puzzle pieces in the mail after yesterday's post. Even though I wrote in that post that I have no desire to complete any of the incomplete puzzles that I showed, people will interpret that post as me saying that I desperately want to complete them. All right. Whatever. Bring on the puzzle pieces. If that's the price to pay for people coming to your blog every day, I'm up for it. Resistance is futile. And, here, I have another example for you. A couple of weeks ago, I showed off a very large box of goodies sent to me by Rob, a.k.a., steelehere. I took some of the contents of that box and turned it into a contest. Well, that wasn't the only box Rob sent. There was a secon...

Out of necessity arrives a contest

I found one of those pink slips in my mailbox earlier this week that said there was a package waiting for me. It took me a day to get down there, but this giant thing finally made it into the doorway. The box is from Rob, known as steelehere on this blog and on his old one that stopped operating some time ago. I've shown you some of the things he sent me in the last two posts. He said he needed to downsize and thought I might be able to use some of the items inside either for my own collection or trade material. Well, here's the thing. I just got back from another trip to the post office to send off a few card packages. It took me weeks to get those packages assembled, packaged and shipped. And there are stacks of trades behind that. I have a list of 20-25 people long. I really don't have the time for any more trades at this particular point. So I decided a contest might be the way to go. I took some things out of the box that will be good for some trades in proces...
