Literally, this album starts off where Almunia left off (their last album was in 2013) - dreamy waves of spacey electronics, acoustic and electric guitars, subtle beats and immersive melodies. Imagine Pink Floyd playing electronically sparkling dream-pop. For a modern day record, the production and mastering are careful, considerate & luscious which makes me very happy.   Almunia - New Moon [C56LP004R UK 2019 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] Today's second album is something which was been on my wish list for a while. I was never lucky enough to find the original 2011 numbered gatefold edition of 300, however recently I happened upon the 2019 repress (again just 300) of Almunia's debut album New Moon . I posted their second album, Pulsar back in May 2021, so the link may still be alive (just). Pulsar had a very dreamy & chilled Balearic feel, New Moon takes on the form of progressive space-rock, smothered in floating Floydian guitars and effects which twinkle across the room from speaker to speaker. The mood remains relaxed, the melodies are addictive and the world now awaits the next installment from Almunia ....given previous form, you will need to be quick or like me, you will be waiting years for a repress.   Almunia - Pulsar [C56LP005R UK 2021 24-Bit FLAC] Claremont 56 Records have finally reissued the 2013 album, Pulsar by Italian duo Almunia onto vinyl. Unless you were one of the lucky few to pick up of the scarcely available originals, you will have had to back do with one of the rather carelessly mastered CD or download files. They have only pressed 500 of this edition, so these will be snapped up quickly as well. Leo Ceccanti and Gianluca Salvadori deliver dreamy psychedelia for guitar and synth, tagged as Balearic for fans of modern genrefication. This album, sometimes funky, occasionally with dabs of seventies space-rock, glistens in the Mediterranean sun with gentle acoustic & electric guitar harmonies and waves of intricate synthesizer melodies, This is music for for lazing on empty beaches, flung far from the masses, this is music for those who don't need chemical highs to relax and unwind.
