Return To Forever Featuring Chick Corea - No Mystery [MP 2470 JPN 1975 24-Bit FLAC] There is no question that Al Di Meola, Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea and Lenny White are among the finest exponents of their specialist fields, combined they became fusion supergroup Return To Forever. This overly self-indulgent record is held together by the super tight rhythm section of Clarke and White, whilst the other two supremos, seem to spend the sessions 'showing off' their masterful techniques to each other. If you prefer your music a little more organic, then this album may not be for you .....everybody else please read on. It is actually the Lenny White composition Sofistifunk which stands out, a track which clearly does as the title suggests. Others do meander off beyond self-indulgence into complex arrangements, somewhere between funky jazz fusion and progressive rock.
