With the ink not even dry on the deal which allowed London Records to effectively asset strip the bankrupt Factory Records, Moston's baggy boy band Northside found themselves on London Records in Europe through a secondary deal with Rough Trade Deutschland for Germany, The Netherlands & Belgium, and with Barclay Records for France in 1992. This was to be a very brief arrangement which never progressed beyond Chicken Rhythms . Northside had a few chart hits in the UK and had firmly enshrined themselves in Madchester culture with their catchy LSD influenced indie-pop, however it would never be clear how this would go down in the more fastidious & self-contained French & German markets.
