Parade Ground - The Golden Years [DE-018 USA 2011 24-Bit FLAC] Brussels duo, Parade Ground were assisted by Front 242's Patrick Codenys and Daniel B in honing their post-punk gloominess into tight synthwave through the mid-eighties. Wire's Colin Newman was also drafted in to produce tracks for their important Dual Perspective EP ...those tracks feature on this 2011 compilation album. New listeners will likely enjoy the melodic Took Advantage (here in its full 12" length) and the Colin Newman produced Moan which hints as a mix of early OMD and Talk Talk. Parade Ground's best known single, Strange World also features to round off what is a fine examination of what the duo did in the studio, rather than an attempt to compile a "best of...".
