Nasmak - 4our Clicks [PLUREX 2300 NLD 1982 24-Bit FLAC] Behind every great post-punk band is a fabulous bass player and Theo Van Eenbergen is no exception. Whilst his name doesn't spring to mind as easily as Adamson, Lewis, Principle, Hook or Wobble, 4our Clicks is a superb post-punk record driven by his splendidly complex basslines. This album featured on the old blog about a year ago using digital tracks sourced from the band by a huge ESWA contributor in Holland and I am somewhat chuffed to be able to now present them in high resolution 24-bit audio. Nasmak are one of those Benelux experimental post-punk bands who skirted the attention of most in the UK purely because their records were very difficult to track down. Peel played a couple of tracks from their 1980 debut album, and there was a 1982 Peel Session. Nasmak - Nasmak Plus Instruments, Instruments Plus Nasmak [PLUREX 1800 NLD 1980 24-Bit FLAC] So how do I follow that last post.....? Truus de Groot from Plus Instruments shares vocal duties with Nasmak's own Joop Van Brakel, produced by Wally Van Middendorp. This album is likely one of the most important records to come out of the Dutch new-wave/post-punk scene. Some of you will likely never have heard of the cohorts, however Nasmak were one of the first Dutch new wave bands to get airplay in the UK, championed by John Peel, they also secured that all important Peel Session in June 1982. Plus Instruments continue to perform and record complex but minimal electronica.
