It is therefore difficult to write about Spirea X without being cruel to the skinny streak of talentless pish that is Bobby Gillespie, so I will try to hold back. Spirea X were miles better than anything Bobby and his chums did without help from Oakenfold, however they did position themselves halfway between The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays with a hint of Spacemen Three, but about two years after both the formers had peaked.
