The Sugarcubes - Life's Too Good [TPLP5 UK 1988 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] Some of you have been asking for this album. Well, here you are. Formed from the ashes of Icelandic art-punks K.U.K.L. came the daughters of Guðmund & Örnólf and the sons of Ólaf, Baldur, Benedikt & Erling, With a big helping hand from BBC's John Peel & his regular play of the classic single, Birthday , Iceland's greatest musical export The Sugarcubes found their way into nearly everybody's home. Life's Too Good was their first and best album by far, featuring the singles Birthday , Deus , Motorcrash & Coldsweat , but it will always be about Birthday and that instantly recognisable bassline intro. Thankfully it wasn't all about Björk, the complicated pixie-like queen of Icelandic pop, fellow vocalist Einar Örn Benediktsson contrasts the Björk voice in many ways.   The Sugarcubes - Birthday (Christmas Mix) [12 TP 11L UK 1988 24-Bit FLAC] Originally released in October 1987, The Sugarcubes UK debut single, Birthday , was one of the most important singles of it's time. Its okay, but after three mixes, I'd recommend that you reach for some Japanese lounge music to brig...

It's Cold Up There!

The Sugarcubes - Cold Sweat [12 TP 9 UK 1988 24-Bit FLAC] Icelandic indie darlings who were turning out the hits long before Sigur Rós were twinkles in their parents eyes. Put aside the more famous tracks like Birthday (for now), Deus and Motorcrash , Cold Sweat finds The Sugarcubes in full rock mode. Ripped from another penguinflight twelve, likely purchased in Covent Gardens Runaway Records! A1 Cold Sweat B1 Dragon B2 Traitor (Icelandic)
