Fiat Lux - Hired History [821 637-1 EU 1984 24-Bit FLAC] Polydor Records managed to pass off a compilation of selected singles and b-sides by Fiat Lux on the unsuspecting European market as a debut mini album. I recall they did exactly the same thing with The Style Council. Hired History was never properly released in the UK until Cherry Red mullered it to death as an expanded brick-walled compilation compact disc. Here is that album as it should have sounded, carefully extracted from a good quality 1984 Dutch pressing. The Bill Nelson connections are fairly well known, however Polydor chose Hugh Jones to produce their two most commercial tracks Secrets and Photography which both feature here. I'm sure any similarity to early China Crisis is purely by accident. Blue Emotion sounds a lot like to a lost Paul Haig track to me. Aqua Vitae revitalises the Bill Nelson connection. Enjoy.
