Elton John - Honky Chateau [VMP-167 USA 2023 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] It was only a matter of time before The Reg appeared on my blog, whilst a little too mainstream for some, we should still all appreciate the man's work over the decades. I am no big fan (maybe of only 2 or 3 albums), but was dragged along to one of his farewell shows earlier this year and almost enjoyed myself. What's surprising is that two of the backing musicians that night also appeared on this album, originally released back in 1972. Best known for the inclusion of Rocket Man , this album varies widely in styles from rock & pop, through to country, plus of course a little bit of honky-tonk. Vinyl Me Please managed to secure the master tapes for this 50th Anniversary limited exclusive pressing and handed them to Ryan K. Smith for AAA mastering duties.
