The Pretty Things - Closed Restaurant Blues [KIRI 032 UK 1985 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] Despite many changes of musical direction and the band disintegration, The Pretty Things survived most of the sixties and seventies as a musical entity, best known for their sixties psyche opus S. F. Sorrow , this splendid album from the important Bam Caruso Records label gathers up tracks from their formative years between 1964 & 1967. This is a fine compilation of The Pretty Things recordings in a mix of mono & stereo during their early R&B into mod-period, though as you would expect with Bam-Caruso, with lots of groovy psychedelic tinges. There is not one duff track on this well mastered and excellently pressed album, however if you are looking for some highlights, seek out £.S.D. , Death Of A Socialite and the fuzzy Buzz The Jerk .
