Kid Machine - Magico [RL 34 UK 2020 24-Bit FLAC] Kid Machine is the pseudonym of Manchester DJ and electronic artist, Mark Williamson who released Magico , his fifth album quite recently. This double platter consists of eight electronic workouts drawing heavy influence from the dance sounds of eighties New York and mainland Europe, including Italy (hence the title and unusual dodgy sleeve design). I adore the mix of new beat, italo-disco , early techno with a deft touch of Moroder and Arthur Baker - Williamson lays out an analogue-style groove which is preserved neatly onto a vinyl pressing at just the right volume. There is enough crossover potential here to appeal to fans of New Order, Vince Clarke and Pet Shop Boys, who prefer to just tap their toes rather than cut some shapes & get sweaty on the dancefloor.
