Bruce Soord from Devon is best known as the lead protagonist with British modern alternative rock act The Pineapple Thief, Jonas Petter Renske is the grizzly voice of Swedish doom metal band Katatonia. Together, for one brief period, they were Wisdom Of Crowds . Renske's voice has mellowed a great deal since his 'cookie monster' days and this larger than life hairy beast belts out the vocals with passion and warmth. Soord plays all the instruments, mixing electronica and rock with some considerable skill. For me, Radio Star is their finest moment as it melts Renske's vocal melodies all over Soord's familiar heavy beats and riffs. It's the kind of song which just sticks in your head, in fact I'll stick my neck out and declare the three tracks on side one of this red vinyl double album are among the very finest...
