Brad Is Sex - Gentlemen, Start Your Sheep [MARI 074 UK 1987 24-Bit FLAC] Out of Santa Barbara, California came Brad Is Sex (real name Brad Nad) who was responsible for the superb psycho-garage zombie beat of Someone's Arms which managed some decent airplay on Peel etc back in the mid-eighties. Strangely his label, Bam-Caruso, chose not to release it as a single (surely an indie hit missed ...at least!), but instead released a seven track mini-LP, ripped here for your pleasure. Essentially a solo artist in a grass skirt (with backing tapes) on stage, Brad was augmented by a full band for this release, featuring five original Brad compositions and a bizarre cover of Fleetwood Santana's (sic) Black Magic Woman . The images of our artiste on the front and back of this release can only fuel the speculation that not all was well in Brad's world, and we only have his word that Brad is in fact Sex.
