Ryo Fukui - Scenery [SOLID-1023 JPN 2017 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] You will pay a lot of money for an original pressing of this classic album from Japanese jazz pianist Ryo Fukui originally released back in 1976. A few years ago, I ripped and posted a new DMM cut on quality Swiss label, We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records, here is a Japanese pressing of that same release from a different cut by Japanese/German mastering engineer Kitaro Beeh, released in parallel as part of the Project Re:Vinyl series in Japan only. A1 It Could Happen To You A2 I Want To Talk About You A3 Early Summer B1 Willow Weep For Me B2 Autumn Leaves B3 Scenery

Ryo Fukui - Ryo Fukui In New York [WRJ009LTD CHE 2020 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] It's a chilled & relaxing Sunday morning, so that can only mean one thing... I was initially considering something appropriate from a pile of Blue Note Tone Poet, Impulse /Analogue Productions, Verve/Analogue Productions, one MFSL and a few Blue Note Classic vinyl releases, ignored those (for now) and pulled out this release from the We Release Jazz label of Japanese pianist Ryo Fukui.  Originally only released as a compact disc in Japan in 1999, this is a digital recording superbly mastered for vinyl by Sidney Claire Meyer, one of a new generation of considerate mastering engineers, operating out of Emil Berliner Studios in Berlin, Germany. The record was pressed by Optimal Media, who can produce quality pressings when the record label is willing to cover the premium. The album was recorded at at Avatar Recording Studios, New York in February of 1999 and features Lisle Atkinson o...

Letter From Sapporo

Ryo Fukui - A Letter From Slowboat [WRJ008 LTD CHE 2020 24-Bit FLAC] A few weeks ago, I ripped the sterling repress of Ryo Fukui's debut album Scenery , originally released in 1976. Fukui albums didn't come along too often,  in fact he released just four between 1976 and 2016, all very limited releases in Japan only.  A Letter From Slowboat was his last, originally released in 2016 and recorded at his own Slowboat jazz club in Sapporo, featuring his delightful contemporary jazz piano backed by just bass and drums. I can't think of anything better for a slow Sunday evening. Enjoy. A1 Sonora A2 Stella By Starlight A3 Speak Low A4 Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen B1 Old Country B2 Soultrane B3 Chasin' The Bird B4 Be My Love

Ryo Fukui - Scenery [WRJ-001LTD CHE 2018 24-Bit FLAC] Originally released as a bloody rare vinyl album on Nadja Records (Japan PA-7148) in 1976. Quality Swiss label, We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records launched their jazz division, We Release Jazz Records with this 180gm half-speed mastered pressing of the debut album by legendary Japanese jazz-impresario, pianist & composer Ryo Fukui, recorded at Yamaha Hall, Sapporo on the 7th September 1976. What you get now are the results of a twilight ripping session followed by caffeine soaked, pre-dawn mastering, you can now play this album at whatever time of day you like - I'm sure you will find the best time to appreciate Scenery . A1 It Could Happen To You A2 I Want To Talk About You A3 Early Summer B1 Willow Weep For Me B2 Autumn Leaves B3 Scenery
