Before beginning a solo career he was briefly one third of Scottish synthpop trio Pleasure Ground along with Jon Mais and Chris Yates, who released these two 12" singles on Les Disques Du Crépuscule. Both strongly evidence Rankine's love of pop music with a strong ear for a good and catchy pop song.
