Fortunate Sons - Karezza [KIRI 093 UK 1987 24-Bit FLAC] As promised & requested, here is the second and final album from London's Fortunate Sons, Kareeza. Again taking their lead from American garage rock and power pop, Kareeza also injects Pete Townsend style riffing forming a much more up-tempo affair than their 1986 debut with overall a little less paisley than on Rising . American acts, Green On Red and The Long Ryders faired better in the field than Fortunate Sons, Bam Caruso also failed to capitalise on the paisley revival with another American band Plasticland. The stand-out for me on this record is easily the dreamy psychedelia of Dawning which seems to fit with were 1987 indie music was finding popularity. Fortunate Sons disappeared from view shortly after release, managing just one more single, the Stones influenced rocker, Hammerhead .
