The Lines - Hull Down [ACU 016 2016 24-Bit FLAC] The Lines were a British post-punk band active between about 1978 and 1982. Always seemingly the support and never the main act, The Lines career spawned five singles and three albums promoting a series of live supports to Bauhaus, The Birthday Party and The Cure. Hull Down was compiled from studio sessions recorded before the bands break-up and marked a shift from the standard guitar/bass/drums/voice formula into a more synth-based sound. Never released at the time, it took 30+ years for front man Rico Coning to rework all the sessions into an album proper. Marketed as the lost third album, Hull Down should be revered for its importance as historical bookmark from the era where bands put down their guitars and discovered synthesizers and drum machines.
