Experience - The Crown [TMGT 1312 UK 1983 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] As it's a Friday evening in most parts east of the Charlie Gibbs Fracture Zone, I thought I'd liven things up with a little disco - something which I know goes down well with many of you.  Harking back to the more innocent days of rap music, The Crown is a rap dedication to African American heritage by American DJ Gary Byrd set to a fine ten minute boogie-disco beat provided by Stevie Wonder and his backing band. Wonder also part-wrote the track and provides his instantly recognisable voice for one verse.  Released on Motown Records back in the day, the single was also one of the longest ever singles to hit the UK charts where it peaked at number six in July 1983. Both this album and the preceding Talking Book are works of genuine genius and this is my attempt to reproduce this original (and occasionally crackly) UK pressing as best I can in 24-bit audio.
