There is no better time to follow-up with the classic Hats . This is an album which should stand out to most my age as it marked one of the first AOR (I choose the term loosely) albums to appeal widely beyond the sophisticated genre. I have convinced myself that this is my best rip (ever) so far, aided and abetted by a high quality Linn Records first pressing by Sonopress, and some mastering trickery with iZotope on my original wav transfers.   The Blue Nile - A Walk Across The Rooftops [206 268 DEU 1984 24-Bit FLAC] My copy of the debut long player, A Walk Across The Rooftops by elusively miserable Glaswegians, The Blue Nile is the original German pressing by Sonopress. The band's label, Linn Records are famous for the quality of their mastering and this version is no exception.  I have left these tracks mastered with enough room for you to exercise your volume knob or to comfortably apply some generous replay gain using apps such as Foobar. As soon as that superb plucked bass on the title track hits your speakers, you will hear what I mean. Enjoy.
