Hizuru - Hizuru [MLV-007 JPN 2020 24-Bit FLAC] Japanese nine-piece Hizuru, released their debut album of ambient jazz blended into traditional gagaku music late last year. I thought as 2021 rolls out, this would make a fine Friday night post of ambient music for those who prefer things a little more gentile. My copy is the white vinyl edition which has a little surface noise in places, however it ripped well to deliver seven works of melodic ambience with fringes of jazz, composed & performed on the shamisen, the shakuhachi flute and a koto, as well as the more western, bass, drum, piano and sax.
