Number - Binary [SBESTLP 86 UK 2020 24-Bit FLAC] I grew up with the post-punk funk genre, following many of the bands who developed this style of music. These days there are a few young bands who attempt to follow-on where A Certain Ratio, 23 Skidoo, Maximum Joy etc left off. I've continued my interest with these younger bands, however none of them have shown the necessary edge (and respect) for the genre in its truest form. Then along come Number, just one important thing to note; this lot are not mere youngsters, they have pedigree as two were originally members of nineties groove sharks, Red Snapper. This album is not an homage to better days & sounds, this five piece blend post-punk funk, dub and disco into a modern interpretation of the post-punk funk sound which will teach the likes of LCD Soundsystem how it should be done.
