Shelleyan Orphan were much more organic sounding than the Cocteau Twins. With violins & harps, cellos and bassoons, flutes & harpsichords, cor anglais & double bass their more baroque approach to ethereal dream-pop relied more on disambiguation, craft & acoustics than distortion, lyrical mystery and the esoteric.
