Occult Chemistry - Occult Chemistry [TUX 4 UK 1980 24-Bit FLAC] Occult Chemistry were Gordon, Tom, Justin, Selima & Martha. Here is the only release by this Anglo-American low fidelity post-punk collective, Occult Chemistry released on the excellent Dining Out Records back in 1980. This four track EP delivers jerky, almost danceable (see the video!) no-wave fronted by the very recognisable voice of Martha Tilson a.k.a. Tilly who went on to sing with A Certain Ratio after meeting the band in the USA in late 1980. First heard on Back To The Start recorded at East Orange around the same time for the To Each .. album, Tilly was with ACR throughout their Sextet phase, before returning to her native USA. This single has sat in a box untouched for nearly a decade - I was surprised to note how rare it actually is these days, so I will now carefully put it back in that box and let it gather even more value.
