Death In June - Nada-Ized! [BAD VC 66 UK 2023 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] Except for the DISCriminate compilation CD in 2000, I haven't bought anything by Death In June since their 1986 album  The Wörld Thät Sümmer . I know Douglas P still has a following across the globe, and much like the new Clock DVA, a disproportionate number in Italy, so I won't labour on about my disinterest in his work since the mid-eighties, however this album did interest me enough to part with some cash for the 'small batch' vinyl pressing of 333. Douglas P, now in his late seventh decade, still ploughs on live with abstract post-apocalyptic imagery accompanying mostly acoustic neo-folk with dark subject matters. Recent collaborations have been with electronic musician Miro Snejdr from Lounge Corps -  Nada-Ized! is a product of their mutual appreciation. It has very little to do with the classic Nada! album, however you will encounter new electronic interpretations of early Death In June....

Death In June - Nada Plus! [BADVC PLUS 13 USA 2011 24-Bit 88.2/176.4kHz FLAC] Originally released as a vinyl album on New European Recordings in the UK during 1985, this album has been one of my most requested re-posts. I don't really do re-posts, however from time to time, I do new rips. Nada! is an album which should need little introduction to original ESWA followers, however for the first time, here it is in 24-bit 176.4kHz FLAC ripped from the double vinyl edition released on Pylon Records in 2011. My original 1985 UK pressing has not stood up well to the passing of time, I also have a number of CD versions (some of which are loudly mastered), so this US gold vinyl pressing is a worthy source. This apocalyptic blend of dark post-punk synthwave, monastic chants, doom laden acoustic melancholy and spaghetti western drama has now been given the modern day tag of neo-folk, however it really represents a complex mix of influences and styles. The Nada! album was also to be the ...

Death In June - Come Before Christ And Murder Love [12 BADVC 73 UK 1985 24-Bit FLAC] Death In June's earlier work is by far their best, with the anthemic Nada!  long player being my particular recommendation to those who don't know the band's work. That album was followed by this 12", it was never surpassed.  Come Before Christ And Murder Love is a beautifully dark song, Douglas P's melancholy melody lingers whilst a heavily strung acoustic guitar strums over snapping snares, a pounding beat and a lone trumpet. Likely their last great work - always an emotive topic amongst DIJ fans - a bit like are they or are they not Nazis? The early stuff was always their best - David Tibet* (or whatever he decided to call himself at the time) just made them too weird, as if they weren't already strange enough. *Christ 777 on this record. The band could not really better this and never did. Douglas P. still travels the world with his guitar and his silly head ware, strum...
