Gil Evans - Gil Evans & Ten [APRJ 7120 USA 2022 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] It's time for a little Sunday morning calm in between what will be a busy few weeks. Originally released in mono on Prestige Records in 1957 before Rudy Van Gelder's stereo recording finally became available in 1970. Analogue Productions repressed Gil Evans & Ten onto super quiet 200gm vinyl in 2022, using a lacquer cut by Kevin Grey from the original master tapes.   The Gil Evans Orchestra - Plays The Music Of Jimi Hendrix [CPL 1-0667 DEU 2015 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] This record needs to be heard. Originally released on RCA Records in 1974, Gil Evans and his band of merry men attack the Hendrix repertoire in a full on funky, acid-jazz,  big band kinda way. This album was repressed a few years back by Speakers Corners Records in Germany, mastered from the original analogue tapes by Rainer Maillard and pressed by Pallas.  Did I mention, you need to hear this! A1 Angel A2 Crosstown Traffic / Little Miss Lover A3 Castles Made Of Sand / Foxey Lady B1 Up From The Skies B2 1983-A Merman I Should Turn To Be B3 Voodoo Chile B4 Gypsy Eyes

Gil Evans And His Orchestra - New Bottle Old Wine [WP-1246 USA 2019 24-Bit 176.4kHz FLAC] As it is a Sunday morning, here is another from Blue Note's Tone Poet series of classic jazz reissues mastered from analogue by Kevin Gray and pressed onto virgin 180gm vinyl at RTI. As always, these Tone Poets are packaged in high quality replica tip-on jackets made by Stoughton Printing in LA. Originally released on World Pacific Records in 1958, as either a mono or three-track stereo vinyl edition, Evans and his orchestra featured Cannonball Adderley on saxophone and Art Blakey on drums covering a succession of jazz standards. So pour yourself a glass, get your feet up and enjoy!
