Mandala - Mandala [MAR 036 PRT 2020 24-Bit FLAC] Mandala was the extremely rare privately distributed self-titled album by this Brazilian psyche-jazz quartet. Recorded in 1971 and eventually released in 1976, it has fetched up to 500USD on the second-hand market. Think early-Floyd doing jazz with an air of latin and you would be in the right sort of place. The Mad About Records label do a great job of digging up old Brazilian obscurities however I would guess that perhaps the original masters of this album may have been long lost, and a different original analogue source needed to be borrowed. The unusual spectrogram image in the archive suggests two noise floors, which are only audible in the quiet sections, however they have ensured the full sonic experience when the tracks get going.
