Lavvi Ebbel - Kiss Me Kate [TWI 172/205 488 BEL 1983 24-Bit FLAC] Just for the hell of it I am digging out an old ESWA post, unadulterated from my original rip, Kiss Me Kate was their final album  - they were also quite popular in Holland. After  a brief flirtation with a major label, Lavvi Ebbel retreated to the comfort of Les Disques Du Crepescule for the funky ¿Telepatia? ¡Telepatia! single which features here on the Kiss Me Kate album. Apologies for the fuzz and skip on A4/B4 which is due to a stubborn vinyl flaw.  Lavi Ebbel were  just another one of those great Benelux bands who deserved to be heard by a wider audience who appreciate how post-punk bands evolved not just in the UK, but across Europe in the early eighties. You may also notice that this was a parallel release on Ariola Records in some markets, hence the dual catelogue numbers. A1 Ouspenski A2 Kiss Me Kate A3 Coffee Koffie A4 Suffering B1 !Telepatia! B2 Full Moon B3 Run...

Much Ado About Lavvi Ebbel

Lavvi Ebbel - Albü Meth [2426 042 NLD 1982 24-Bit FLAC] After their first two indie singles Lavvi Ebbel changed direction from new wave to pop-funk, crossing over into the territory of Talking Heads, Allez Allez etc etc. The Benelux hit Victoria which features here on the Albü Meth album, broke them outside Belgium when Polydor signed the band for a one single/one album deal in Holland. The band retired to their days jobs after a brief career back in Belgium on Les Disques Du Crépuscule. They reformed recently and have been back playing the Benelux festival scene during recent summers. A1 Victoria A2 Much A Do About Nothing B1 Le Cafard B2 Give Me A Gun (Remix) B3 Stand Up And Fight This is a re-post of my original ESWA rip from 2016.

Lavvi Ebbel - Out Of The Blue [LE 0001 BEL 1981 24-Bit FLAC] A1 Out Of The Blue B1 Give Me A Gun Lavvi Ebbel - On The Telephone [VB 656 BEL 1981 24-Bit FLAC] A1 On The Telephone B1 Desire It's time now for some jagged funk-tinged post-punk from Belgium. Lavvi Ebbel were eventually to find popularity with their third single Victoria , however for me it is their first two singles which stand out. Albums were to follow as their sound mellowed ....but these are where it all started. I did feature both of these many years back on the ESWA blog, but these are new 2019 rips on my new deck with a little more attention given to removing pops, clicks and crackle. Enjoy!
