Phuture - Acid Tracks [TX-142 UK 2020 24-Bit FLAC] Back during lockdown, the UK arm of Trax Records reissued some of their more iconic releases on red vinyl. Phuture's Acid Tracks was one of them - I was never a disco dancer, however early house music has always been one of my favourite genres, very different to its modern incarnation - even more so than the crass British interpretation which seemed to celebrate drug culture, rather than warn of its dangers like on track B2. I used to buy records like this on import from the back of a van for a major record retailer back in the day - I may be tempted to post some more of these great memories. Likely one of the mid-eighties most important electronic recordings, whilst not the first to dabble will frequency modulation on a Roland 303 bass synth, Acid Tracks was to open the minds of many a dance head for years to come.
