Time now for a little Mancunian music folklore. C.P. Lee and John Scott launched this electro spin-off from Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias with a self-titled single on Absurd Records in 1979 and followed it with the world's first every non-record. The record title Meet The Dissidents was more than just a nod to those Californian wacky popstars The Residents.

The Emperor's New Music was a seven inch single glued into its own inner sleeve and therefore impossible to play. Those who did manage to extract said vinyl from sleeve and remove all the glue residue were rewarded with a totally blank track on both sides. Art for art's sake.

Finders Keepers have compiled a whole treasure trove of unreleased recordings from the Gerries into this fascinating long player. Stand outs for me are the title track single, the simple instrumental pop of Tubular Belles, the twisted Increased Resistance and the ironic Space Invaders.
