It was a good indoor day for Ayla and Iza. A bit of napping...

Flashback Friday
This week 2010 this time.
Ayla and Iza were calm...
There were a LOT of rattley mice (both Ayla and Iza loved them).
And sometime in the night, somecat went nuts and wrecked stuff... Nocat admitted who, but it was impressive!

World Pet Memorial Day
TBT: There are 2 ways to look at this. First is The Memorial Garden where I return the Over-The-Bridge Mews to the Earth. I build a box. Nail Brass letters of the name to the box and attach a small statuette to the top.
I regret that weeds grew there over Winter, so I can't show a current photo. Plus, 1 box (Iza'a) is in the basement so I can copy it to build 2 more (Laz and Ayla) which are way overdue.
This time, I am taking Iza'a box apart so I can make templates of each piece for (sadly) future memorial boxes.
But I can show an earlier photo when things were cleaner to show the general idea.
I will be working on clearing the whole area and placing boxes for Laz and Ayla soon!
The other way to acknowledge this day is to list the Gotcha and Bridge days of all the cats...

Mancat Monday And Meezer Colors Day
TAZ here: Box Joy! A very purrfect size.
But I was well-protected in my purrfect box! She couldn't well reach over and down. But I could. So I had a peaceful hour...

And since it is Meezer Colors Day...

Flashback Friday
This week is this week from 2009...
LC was still with us and she and Iza got along well.
LC was healthy and happy then.
Ayla wasn't getting along with Iza though. They tended to watch each other carefully. Looking around corners was good.
But you can sure see the difference between a Siamese and even a Siamese-like Tonkinese here...

Flashback Friday
For today, we go back to 2009 this week...
LC was still with us. She liked to sit on the bridge over the small waterflow that went to the 10' pond" (sadly, out of comission these days).
And she liked to just sit in the semi-wild back yard.
Ayla and Iza were exploring around the lawn for signs of any mousies.
They were better together outside than in those days.

Flashback Friday
TBT: Well, let's go way back to this week (2012, as far as I have pictures in iPhoto) this flashback. Dad was spending his declining years with me while still mobile but in early dementia. He enjoyed being out on the deck.
He always claimed he "didn't love cats", but he liked Iza well enough. Iza was calm and soothing...
He even fell asleep in his chair with Iza on his lap sometimes.

Thankful Thursday
TBT: Regarding yesterday's post and some comments, I didn't used to ever get confused by cats. When I moved here 37 years ago, it was just me and Tinkerbelle (a gray tabby female). Then after a few years, I bought an orange male (Skeeter) and then a tuxedo female (LC). Pretty hard to confuse.
But 16 year old Tinkerbelle disappeared one day. And Skeeter left due to kidney problems. LC left soon after (no known cause, just found her comatose in the basement one morning). The vet said she recovered briefly but died shortly after that.
But I had Ayla by then. She loved Skeeter and LC. But she needed a cat-friend. So I tried to get another siamese. Turned out that one was a Tonkinese. They fussed. So I found Marley with help here (wanting a calm male cat). And he did that.
Ayla and Iza were reasonably distinct in their colors. No confusion there. A true Siamese has a much darker fur-points,
Marley calmed the house. When there was a fuss between Ayla and Iza, he would just walk between them and the problem was over.
But that's when I started confusing cats slightly. Marley looked enough like Skeeter that I sometimes called him that.
And now I have Marley and Loki. They are both orange/white males. Names are sometimes tricky. Sometimes I call Marley "Skeeter". Loki is even harder. It wasn't really a good choice of name. And I keep calling him "Laz".
I think it is because I finally decided to have Laz euthanized because his memories of kittenhood terrors around the pit bulls finally drove him insane. He became very vicious to Ayla and Lori. I still feel great guilt about that.
So Loki keeps getting called Laz because I don't really like the name I chose for him and I miss Laz (he loved me at least). Would it be weird if I changed his name? I don't know what it might be but "Loki" is just not the right name. Suggestions are welcome...
I am thankful for each of The Mews individually regardless of name. Marley loves me. Lori loves me. Loki loves me. Binq loves me. I am lucky in that regard. I mostly wish Lori would just accept Loki and Binq as siblings.
I am getting used to hearing spats between Lori and Loki&Binq sometimes. That is not something I have experienced with cats before, but I am learning to ignore it. It doesn't last long. And I suppose that if they aren't actually trying to kill each other, I should be grateful.
So I'm also thinking back (thankfully) to Skeeter and LC getting along so wonderfully for 16 years, Ayla and Iza finally getting along for many, and Lori loving Marley to this day.
Skeeter and LC...
Ayla and Iza...
Loki and Binq...
Lori and Marley...
And Laz and Lori when he was sane...
