WOW, what a difference a day makes! Late last night, I went into The Mews Room, expecting to find Loki up high but friendly (and he was). And Birq hiding in the cat cave on the floor.
She has stayed there for 3 days after hiding in the carrier. Shy and staying away.
But this time, she immediately ran to me. Couldn't get enough of me. Desired stroking and scritchies. Purred like crazy! I could hardly believe the sudden change.
OK, I guess she needed to adjust. But Bast did she sure changed suddenly! I was sitting on the floor. She kept walking around me, pushing her head against me, and seeking my attention. Which I gave completely and happily of course...
I was amazed!
And then she emptied the food bowls. And then she played with the Turbotrak. And she knows how to move the ball. She can even get it over the bridge! We even played with moving the ball around. She saw me move it and was where it would stop. And bat it back to me.
And then she played with Plague Rat, nip cigar, and some cardboard fluff on the floor. And came back to me purring and wanting more attention.
Now THAT is the cat I saw and liked in the shelter community room! Friendly, playful, active. I think Lori is going to love her.
Binq is a bit free with her claws (as is Lori). I suppose I will finally have to learn to clip claws. Lori and Binq give pinpricks, no blood, but I do feel it. One is OK, but 2 could get irritating.
I am hoping that tomorrow isn't rainy. If Marley and Lori can go outside, I can let Loki and Binq (that still feels weird to type) out of The Mews Room to explore the house for a while. I always do these things gradually.
In a few days, Loki and Binq will have to meet Marley and Lori face-to-face. I am prepared for a bit of hissing, but hope it doesn't last long. Marley is a calm cat and Loki seems to be calm too, Lori wants a friend, Loki and Binq are accustomed to having other cats around them.
And I can barely wait for the day when Marley and Loki sit next to each other. And I find Lori and Binq next to each other on the bed. I just don't want to push it all too fas for them.Patience is good...
