LC: Well, I don't know why The Big Thing was so surprised. His toes SMELLED like they ought to be nipped after he took his shoos an socks off..

Skeeter Was Nice
LC: Well gee, Skeeter was very nice to me, even if I got treats. I was still all wet an all from getting part of me all wetted inna pond.

He not only helped me groom myself, but he really took over the job.

He's kinna scared of the flashy camera, but he stayed at it. He was surprised by the first flashy, but he stayed at it. He really is a good brother.

He didn't leave until I was all nice an dry an clean again.

But he left as soon as I was OK again. I wouldn't have minded if he had stayed. I wanted to groom him back...

Fell Inna Pond!
LC: Oh mouse-droppings! I was lookin for froggies around the ponds and I slipped while grabbin at one. I fell right in. I didn't get totally wetted. I got right out, of course, and I tried to hide it. But The Big Thing called us in to dinner a liitle after that an I was really hungry. Hunger won.

The Big Thing was really surprised to see me all wet-ratty-lookin, but he let me eat before doin anything about it. An he caught me in a piciature while I was eatin before I could groom my fur properly.

Skeeter jus laffed and laffed an called me "clumsy". Well, I haven't seen HIM running around the rocks tryin to catch froggies! I bet he can't!
Well, The Big Thing promised me a treat and Skeeter isn't. I'm gettin a whole little pile of Hills Science Diet (my favorite stuff). I deserve it. So THERE!

A Day of Sad Stories...
Skeeter: The Big Thing did some work outside, as he often does. I don't unnerstand it. He fusses with plants a lot.
But he was kind of quiet today. Oh, he talked to us, but he seemed differnt. This dark, after we had our dinner an all, he said that this was an important day. Well, he said it was an important Big Thing Day, anyway.
He tried to explain it, but then he said he hoped we would never aktually unnerstand. He gets that way sometimes. He tried to explain a day when people die for SERIOUS reasons, differnt from just regular crossing of the Bridge, an then he just stopped suddenly. All I know is that somethin was really botherin him.
Later, he just stopped an touched a fancy colory cloth he has hangin outside an said "for the ones who have gone before to protect all of us". He seemed pretty serious so I just did the only thing I could do. When he sat down later, I curled up on his lap and purred as best I could.
LC and I have some reglar stuff to say, but we want to wait until the computer says it is a new "date"...

SNAKE!
LC: Yikes, there was a snake in our yard when we went out early light. I knew there was something wrong from inside the cave, but I didn't know exactly what it is. We don't see many snakies.
I ran straight for it. I coudnt see it from in the cave, but I could smell it an followed my nose. The Big Thing could see I was really after something, so he ran out after me. When he saw I was jumping on a snakie, he grabbed me away from it (that was a surprise) until he could check it out.
He says most snakies are harmless and helpful, but you have to make sure. Well, OK, but I don't like any strange things in MY yard. And this was apparently a harmless snakie (to us). He says it eats micies. I don't want somethin in my yard that eats MY mices! So when he let go of me (and I was pawing and squirmin a lot), I jumped it until it left the yard! I'm brave! Nothin gets our mousies but me and Skeeter, ya know?
The Big Thing says I am gonna meet a nasty snakie some day if I'm not careful (but he admits that the snakies that like our yard aren't likely to be the nasty snakies. But I notice that The Big Thing put his heavy paw covers on. So maybe I better be a LITTLE careful.
I bit its behind parts (it tasted bad) before it left. So there! I am lord of the back yard and woe to any things that come into it (except Skeeter and The Big Thing, of course).
The Big Thing ran in the cave to get the camera thingie, but I had chased it away before that.

Google Searching
We saw on Ayla The Grump's blog http://aylathegrump.blogspot.com/ that she searched for "stinky goodness" an found her own blog at the top of the list. That is so cool. We call it "wet smelly good stuff", so we decided to search that.
Wow, we were #2 on Google and #1 on Netscape! We have been walkin around all morning with our tails held high. The Big Thing says we are bein too proud cause we made up the phrase ourselfs anyway and "who else would use it?". Still, after we got tired of struttin around, we decided to go nap on the very best spots in the cave (when The Big Thing isn't sleeping), the new blue sheets in the guest room.
We promise to be to normal tomorrow, though! ;)

DaisyMae Maus Dinner Gift
LC: We had the first of the special food cans DaisyMae Maus sent us. Well, we are used to the reglar stuff we get an it is fine. But we sure loved the Natural Balance Ultra Formula can! We went right at it (an we usually try to stay just a bit standoffish). Skeeter always eats first an I watch him to see if it is just "OK" or whether it is good.

He slammed into the stuff! So I went over and sniffed. Yeah, I started to eat it fast, too. I couldn't help it. The Big Thing read the can an said it not only had chickie but "duck", "chickie liver", and "salmon fishie". Well no wonder it tasted so good. All cool stuffs in it!
An we are gonna get some treats tonight from the big pouches that DaisyMae Maus sent. I like it. But Skeeter says he is gonna just faint. He is really into the treats an temptations. He hasn't stayed a length away from The Big Thing since dinner... I think he is seriously addicated to the treats and cans. Wow! The Big Thing says he will keep the other flavors for one each week. We can't have Skeeter going crazy for these cool tastes alla time, after all.
But, Oh Wow is this a great prezzie!

I normally don't check Skeeter's bowl, but I did today. He walked away (he does that when he is sure there is going to be food in his/our bowls) but this time I wanted to know if he was leaving any of this stuff!
So, just to make sure he wasn't getting even BETTER stuff from the DaisyMae Maus box, I went over and checked...

It was the same stuff, but I hadda be sure. It was so good. I guess now I know why Skeeter pushes his fat face into my bowl when I'm eating. He just wants to be sure it as good as what is in his bowl. So, I think I understand that now.

Then he came back for more an I wanted to go outside. So The Big Thing let me out and Skeeter checked out my bowl. LOL!

More Surprises!
Skeeter: Not more treats, but a good surprise, too. Some Big Things came an looked at the noisey machine that kills the grass. Apparently, it was real sick (an good, cause I hate it). They tried to heal it in the back yard, but it was in a real bad way. I was scared of the strange people, but I watched from the deck because I was hoping it was finally going to be sent away.
They tried their best, but all they could get it to do was cough horribly and then pee (and it was really stinky pee). Pee, "gas", "oil" (who cares). They decided it was having too many troubles to heal right there (I was hoping The Big Thing would have to squirt that awful pink stuff into it a LOT).
They dragged it onto a BIGGER stinky noisy machine (and it seemed to complain a lot from the noises I heard). Then they took it away. The Big Things says its "carb-you-radiator" was seriously injured an that some of that gas that Max's Dad passes all night got into places it shouldnt.
I didn't unnerstand that, but The Big Thing said it was like my thumpy and purry things went all wrong. Yikes! I didnt think the noisy machine was like that. Now I feel sorry for it, sort of. Not that I want it to come return here, but I guess I can hope it gets better an finds some other home. I mean, I don't want it hurting, but I don't want it back here either. It scares me! LC doesn't like it either, but she is braver about noisey smelly things than I am. *sigh*

A Surprise!
LC: We got sent a box! It had our names on it (WOW). An even better, there was cool stuff in it. DaisyMae Maus sent us some toys and goodies. We were so surprised!

There were some new toys. They make noises when they roll.

There were some cans of special food. We can't wait to smell them when they are opened!

There were lotsa treats. Skeeter has got treats forever now!

An, there was even US! I like the little me a lot.
Thank you so much, DaisyMae Maus (and the Feline Americans)

Skeeter Rap
Skeeter Rap (all in fun)…
“I love the food bowl, see?
An I love the Big Thing’s Lap, agree.
But my Sister likes to bite me
An she calls herself LC.
So we tussle on the chairs and floor
An when she bites, I bite her more.
So even if the loosened fur is mine,
I hold her down effry time.
Cause when it all is done and said
I always have her by the head.
So when she stops and calls retreat
I always stop an groom her head, her neck and even feet.
She’s neat
Fleet
And sometimes sweet.”

Favorite Things Meme
Wow, I gotted Tagged fast! It is so 'citing! An it is a complicated one (so you know what, I'm NOT gonna tag Skeeter cause sometimes he isnt all that swift if you know what I mean). He can get tagged on his own, LOL!
Looks like we just list them...
FAVORITES:
Time of Day: Early Light. I just love it when the bright thing is just up. The mousies are all tired and the fishies are cold and slow!
Day of the week: Days? You mean like “lights”? Well, The day before “Caturday”, I guess. We get the good tuna for dinner then.
Season of the year: Right NOW! I love this time of year. I can sleep outside in purrfect comfort. Not too hot an not too cold.
Holiday: Yesterday. It’s The Big Thing’s Gotcha Day an he gives us anything we want. He gave me a shrimpsie AND tuna.
Beaches: In the Big Back Yard, there is a nice warm flat rock next to the flowy water pond. It is the only rock the bright shiny thing things touches and its a wonnerful place to sit while waitin for froggies. They aren’t awake yet, but it is still a great place to sit.
Song: I’m weird, I love ‘The William Tell Overture’. And ‘Jennifer’ by the Eurythmics. Both make me run all aroun the cave…
Flower: Catmint flowers. When I see them, I know there are leafses in the house and I get some every few darks. I go nuts for catmint leafses! I eat them, bat them aroun, rub them with my chin, an roll on them. I get “visions”. Ooh maybe I said too much there…
Talk show: Any discussion on ‘The Fishing Channel’. They get all those big fishies an I want one of them!
Movie: “The Incredible Journey’. I want to be THAT CAT! Really, I could. I’m brave and bossy.
Soaps: Don’t like soaps at all. I licked some once and got sick.
Beverage: Water. Fishie water from the pond is best. But the water in the never-ending container is good too because there are little bubble-fishies that I try to catch. I’ve tried cow milk and chickie water, but they don’t really ‘cite me much.
Fruit: Get real… Those are just prey food (though The Big Thing loves them and he is too big to eat). I did eat a “lettuce” once. Is that a fruit?
Snack: Hill’s Science Diet dry crunchies. I don’t like any other “temptations”. When I come inside when called, I get a couple of those. I love them!
Food: Shrimpsies, shrimpsies, shrimpsies, tuna, shrimpsies, shrimpsies, ham. Shrimpsies, mostly.
Restaurant: The “refrigerator” has pretty good shrimpsies when The Big Thing doesn’t add a lot of spicy junk to them. It also has our breakfast in it every other light.
I am tagging Grr, Midnight, and Cocoa. Parker. And Darling Millie.

The Creek Is Flowing!
LC: Oh so cool, the water is moving again.

The water tastes so great. The Big Thing says that's because there is "oxy-gen" in it, but I think that's because of the fishies in the water. Skeeter and me love to drink from the moving water, anyway. An we like to watch it, too. We are so happy he made all the water flow again.
He says he had to build the "pump" again, but as long as the water moves we don't care. He's in charge of that hard stuff.
He caught me on the condo thing. I was bein pretty sneaky cause I dint want him to know I liked it, but he finally sneaked me with the camera thing. He had to carefully lean around a corner... I don't want to say that Big Things are anylike kitties, but he can be pretty quiet and sneaky.

I was sleeping there and stood up when I heard the camera thingie whine, but I dint know where he was (he can be very quiet and he snuck the camera around a corner).
We got new sheets! The Mom&Dad/Guest room usually has some old sheets over the softy sleeping places (to keep our fur offa the spreads, if you can believe it!). But this time after he wetted and dried efrything, he placed 3 sheets on them an we get to sleep on the nice new blue sheets anytime we want! They are our "fur sheets" to keep the strange people smells off them.
So we got Skeeter to curl up on them so I could show them off. He wasn't really happy about it. The Big Thing gave us a treat after, so we were happy (and Skeeter was thrilled).

Fat Tuesday
LC: Ha, ha, we got a "widebody" shot of Skeeter on the warm sock pile yesterday. He sure looks fat to me an The Big Thing...

He thinks he is all lean and long, but when he sits JUST right, I laff and laff at him... He looks like a little kittie head onna lumpy pumpkin! LOLOL! If he didn't have extra-long whiskers, he would get stuck goin through a doorway. Hee,hee.
Don't worry, I'm just gettin even with him for callin me "fat-hips", the other day.

Today (So Far)...
Skeeter: Some days just dont start right, ya know? Little things go wrong and then some other things get all frustratin.
It started when I accidently peed over the edge of the litter box. I was SO embarassed I tried to hide on top of the bed!

But The Big Thing dint get all mad and he gave us some breakfast. After we ate, we were ready to go outside. But the hard clear thing wasnt open enough for us to get through!
We discussed the situation...

But neither of us had any good ideas...
LC suggested I try to stick my head in the opening and twist and squeeze. I just turned and stared at her. What, and risk my beautiful whiskers?

At least LC was good enough to act embarassed over such a dumb idea!
We got outside eventually (The Big Thing made the opening bigger). LC jumped right over me!

After we came in, we had a good nap. I got the pile of warm socks!
So I guess today is goin to end OK (but there is still a lot "today" left)...

Visits
Skeeter: Well, he left it on for us deliberately this time (as he usually does), so we get to say more stuff...
The Big Thing's parent beans were here for a pawful of lights. We were really nervous and hidey at first, cause we aren't used to other Big Things around, especially not for whole lights and darks. We stayed unner the bed at first an only snuck out for some food when things seemed quiet. But even then one of them would come into the kitchen an scare us away. The just sound and move "differnt" an we weren't sure if they were gonna accidently step on us or something.
The Big Thing told us that they were the beans that The Winter Kitty lived with forever, and knew how to be careful around kitties, so LC decided to go watch them a while. She sat inna safe corner an checked them out. When she decided they were OK, she came back and let me know. She said to watch out for the rolly thing the Mom parent used, though, cause it looked like it could catch a tail.
So she went back out with them while I thought about it. She rubbed their legs an sniffed their feet and finally let them scratch her. She said they seemed to know about scratchin kitties right, an the Dad bean let her outside when she wanted, so they were OK.
I finally went out to check them the second light they were here. LC was right, they were kinna careful around me. I hadda come out anyway cause I could smell good food. They even gave me little bits of the chickie they were eatin an that was nice of them. I even got a piece of cheese!
We still hadda be careful for ourselfs though. The Big Thing says it has been a few years since The Winter Kitty went over the Bridge (an we were sorry to finally hear about that), an it shows. They dont remember to look behind them before they push a chair back to stand up, an they sometimes make sudden noises while we are eating. But we liked gettin some extra snackies and scratchin, so it was worth being alert.
I especially liked all the good food smells the several lights they were here. We got some of the chickie I mentioned, but there was pork another light, ham one light, and even some shrimpsies! I got an extra piece of shrimp cause I stood up an tapped their legs several times. I'll have to remember that!
Mom bean also talked to me a lot, an I liked that. She even told me all about her own Kitties-that-came-before, an I was surprised. There were Meezers an a Ginger an a couple of others. There was even a coupla kitties-that-came-before-our-Big-Thing (if you can believe that)! She even had kitties that she found all lost and alone an gave them Forever Homes!
So I was real nice to her after that. She even told me I was very handsome an that I was her favorite kitty in the cave. LC says to add that the Mom bean told HER the same thing (except she used the word "pretty" to her) and I shouldnt get all snooty about it. That's OK, I think the Mom bean really does like me best, I mean, I rubbed her legs and paw-tapped her a lot more than LC did.
But just when we were startin to get used to them being around the cave, they left. We were thinking they had moved in with us, but it seems they have other places to visit and are going to their own cave. I suppose that is good. It was interestin to have them around, but it was kinda active and noisey an I dint get as much quiet laptime with The Big Thing as I'm used to. So, I guess I'm lookin forward to more of that. An I wont be havin to watch out for moving chairs and sudden noises.

Ooh, We've Been Away!
The Big Thing's parents have been visitin all week, an he wasn't on the computer at all the whole time until just now, so we couldn't get on an post. But he turned it on to check emails and stuff and we just got on when he left.
We dont have much time though, cause he is gonna go to bed an turn it off real soon. We have had lotsa interesting experiences, bits of shrimps and ham, and sniffin and rubbin nice strange beins!
More details tomorrow, when The Big Thing leaves the computer on unattended longer...
Gotta run, he's returning...

Seven Random Facts About Me
LC:
"Seven Random Facts About Me"
Skeeter tagged me (he mouse-droppings better WELL have)!
But I’m not sure who is left to tag. Skeeter told me it was getting real hard to find untagged individual friends. I’m gonna tag a couple of groups we like to read about an hope for the best.
1. My belly flops side to side when I trot.
2. I am SO addicted to Catmint!
3. I will NOT sit on anyone’s lap.
4. I like to watch the sparkly box with The Big Thing.
5. I don’t like kitty treats!
6. Sometimes, I like to pee down the shower drain (it just seems RIGHT, somehow).
7. When a strange kitty comes into our yard, I bounce toward them on all 4 paws at once and it scares them away!

Here are the rules for this meme ...
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things, and mention the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog! Check my blog for an example…
1. Catnip and catmint don’t interest me. I’ve tried it, but “nothin”.
2. I don’t like to jump up on things. Oh a soft chair or bed, sure, but not tables or countertops.
3. I like to come inside to pee and poop and then go back outside again.
4. I've never met a can of wet smelly good food that I haven’t been willing to eat.
5. My breath always smells sweet.
6. I don’t cry or moan when I’m in a kitty prison (though I complain a lot while getting put in).
7. I’m long; when I want The Big Things attention, I can stand up and grab his belt with both paws.

Endearing But Annoying Things We Do
As told to us by The Big Thing as Skeeter was sittin on his lap and LC was sitting next to them on the soft stool:
Skeeter -
1. Dashes inside from the deck anytime The Big Thing even goes near the open door.
2. Pushes LC's head out of whichever bowl he feels like eating from (back and forth from bowl to bowl).
3. Comes inside to use the litterbox and then goes back outside to wander around.
4. Jumps up on The Big Things chair everytime he gets up, and then goes all limp when The Big Thing returns and tries to pick him up to sit down again.
5. Runs and hides whenever he hears the camera batteries power up.
LC -
1. Will NOT come up on The Big Thing's lap but will sit as close as she can without being on the chair.
2. Turns every chin-scratching session into a knuckle-gnawing game.
3. Splashes water out of the never-ending water container just to see the "bubble-fishies" magically appear.
4. Hops up on the bed several times each night for scratchings, but moves just out of convenient arm-reach.
5. Stops whatever she is doing and sits down whenever she hears the camera batteries power up.

Mother's Day Card
LC: Hey, The Big Thing was talkin about making a "card" to send his own Mom (our GrandMom Big Thing, we suppose). He wants to send her kitty blogger piciatures. He sends her the posts from our site each month and she really enjoys reading them. But she is like eleventy-two in kitty years and can't have a kitty of her own anymore (can't bend down to clean the litterboxes, ya know?)
So we had the idea of sending her piciatures of some of the kitties she has been reading about, and we had the idea of askin you to post "Happy Mom Day" and including a little piciature in the comments, so we can print them out and give them to The Big Thing to send to her. We think that would make her day a little brighter an she is havin "Troubles"... She always loved kitties so much.

Dinner Time
LC: We never quite know when we are gonna get dinner. It changes a few laps time each day. According to the amount of light, sometimes it comes a bit sooner an sometimes a bit later. The Big Thing swears it is the same time effry day, but that's not how it seems to us!
We bug him before that time (well, Skeeter bugs him) but it neffer seems to do any good.
So anyway, he will suddenly announce it is "DINNERTIME". Doesn't matter whether we are asleep in corners, buggin him for it, or outside. Doesn't even matter if we are outside and have caught a mousie or something for ourselfs. There is a "DINNER" announcement at some point.
We used to have to share little combined bowls. Our whiskers brushed each other and that was annoying. The Big Thing finally went out and got us sets of separate bowls, an we like that a whole lot. So, he calls "DINNERTIME" an we come runnin from whereeffer we are. He opens the can of the day, he mixes it all up if it is stuff that separates (he tried out not doing that and we got pretty upset), he divides all the food into each of our bowls, and sets them down (politely and waiter-like) and lets us look an sniff.
Skeeter always goes to the bowl on the right, and I watch to see if he will eat it. When he does, I go to the other bowl. Then the dance begins. After we are both eating, Skeeter decides he wants to eat out of my bowl. So he just shoves his big head in and takes over.
I think he is pretty stupid. It is the same food in both bowls. Every time. Every day. Always! But there is no point fighting him about it. Sometimes I feel like the smallest plant-eater in the fern-forest. (grump). But I'm a peaceful dinnertime kitty so I just go to the other bowl.
Sometimes he changes bowls several times ("sigh").
I get my revenge later... The Big Thing walked into the sleeping room today and there was fur all over the blankies. It was Skeeter's! He-he-he...
After we have our first go at the food and walk away, The Big Thing uses a little shovelly thing to scrape it all back into a pile. We like that a lot. Well, it seems like new food again, right? He we leave it all spread out, we don't eat any more of it, and we are hungrier sooner. But if it is all piled up again, we eat it all up later.
If Skeeter wants to stop having me tear his fur all out (not that you can tell by looking at him later, but I know), he should stop stickin his big fat head into my bowl an makin me move from bowl to bowl!
Delayed revenge is good! :)

Eggs, Part 3
The Big Thing tried mixin up eggs in our reglar food, and we didn't that like that either. So we guess eggs is not somethin we want. We 'preciate that some kitties love them, but we don't get it. We'll jus keep bothering The Big Thing for our reglar good smelly wet stuff and some pieces of stuff he cuts up on the "surfaces we can't go" and enjoy what we are used to.
Hurray for Mixed Grill an Chickie flavors an Ocean Whitefish an TUNA! Oh well... We tried the eggs, but effryone knows what they like.

Eggs, Part 2
Skeeter: Well, The Big Thing tried jus scramblin up some "eggs" in our breakfast bowls, and we didn't like that. The smell seemed wrong. So then he heated them (an let them cool), but we didn't like that either.
And we were a bit hungry, so there is somethin bout "eggs" that we don like. He said he will mix them with our next dinner to see if we like that, but he dint (he was working hard all day diggin holes in the yard) and I am happy about that. I like what I have learned to expect.
So maybe we will see a little bit of that egg stuff next light and I sure hope it doesn't spoil the taste of the reglar stuff!
The Big Thing splanied to us about what "eggs" turn into. Chickies! Wow, we sure dint expect THAT! LC and I have decided we want the eggs to turn into chickies to be made into the wet smelly good stuff we prefer. We don't unnerstand how the egg becomes a chickie, but we want the chickies a lot more than the eggs. Unless he can turn eggs into shrimpsies, which would be even better!

New Toys Comments...
LC says:
Parker - The Big Thing knows our favorite hiding places for toys. You're right, unner the fridge an the stove are good places. But we have easy chairs that are real low to the floor, unner the bed, and there is all kinda clutter (boxies an things) to hide things behind. A clutterred house is a kitty playground! If this place ever gets emptied, there are gonna be a gillion toys found!
Meezers - "eleventy eight kinds of fun" is right. The Big Thing changes the color and size of the fuzzy each day. An we never know which one to expect. A lot of them seem kinna gray, though. We like the purple an blue ones best. An we like the littler ones bestest. too. They bat around easier an we can carry them around more.
The Crew - Yeah! They are so mousie-fuzzie, we love them. They come from "fabric stores". Have your Big Thing ask for small and medium "pom-poms". Ours says they usually know what you mean.
Misty - We'll hide them anywhere BUT in the litterbox. We don't want them to get scooped up and away like the "other stuff". LOL! We want our Big Thing to find them an surprise us with them again! He has SO MUCH FUN gettin them out from unner chairs an stoves and such an we jus love gettin them back again to play with. One time, he saw one unner a strange spot and spent 10 minutes (60 laps) gettin it out. He was so pleased he did that he put that one up onna special place to save for playin later!
Caesar and Princess - Oh we are enjoyin them so much! New toys always jus smell better (except when The Big Thing puts them inna little tiny box of catmint). That gets even Skeeter playing with them!
Grr -
Tell your Big Thing to go to a "fabric store". But we're not givin up any of ours. Hee-hee! Having too much fun!
