Flashback Friday

This time we revisit this week in 2010! 

Iza had this weird cowlick unless I specifically brushed it down.  I don't think it was from licking. It always occurred in the same place.

A new toy was a favorite.  Both Iza and Ayla liked it.

But Iza got in control of it.

Iza was enjoying the back yard.  Notice the bells on her collar.  I tried those to let me know when she came up behind me (so I wouldn't step back on a paw).  And maybe save a few birds.  But she learned to walk without jingling them.

I bought a foam hut.  It was used at first, but only briefly.  It wasn't a favorite thing.  I gave it away eventually.

None of The Mews then really figured out the turbotrak.  The bridge baffled them.  

I will mention that Binq has become a Master at it.  She can send the ball (s) over the Bridge and sometimes just goes crazy with it.  But I can't seem to find a picture of her doing that.

In the yard, a burning bush was in full "burn".  

It was lovely.  I had 3 around the front yard, but this was the best one.

Womancat Wensday

 LORI:  Well, finally, "my turn".  I have been enjoying one of the huts on te tree lately.  Nice safe place to watch out into the living and TV rooms.  I can watch the vrats move arounbd and they don't know Im here.

OK, yeah, yeah, things are getting slightly gooder these days.  But Im still real careful around them.  TBT gives me lots of attention, an that is good.  I sleep unner the covers with him most nights again.  Cause my poops are getting more normal and not in bed for a couple weeks.  

That makes him happy.  An me too.  

But I really like sitting in the hut, and that was why I posted...

Today we only go back 2 years.  Because Ayla is usually not all that active but had a good day!

Tired Tuesday

LAZ:   After beating up Bunny yesserday, it was time for a nap!

Cat Tree Hut

LAZ:   I dont normally get in the little huts on the cat trees, but TBT saw me in one and grabbed his camera.  Of course, I left it.  But he did get THIS...

And look!  My eyes actally showed up bloo fer once...

Mancat Monday

LAZ:  I found a nice padded cell hut.  All cushiony inside!  TBT took this first pic across the room in the dim, so it comed out a bit funny.

But I stayed there while he get closer and played wif the flashy and they were better.

Not great, "better".  Ha, ha, meow.

Caturday Saturday

LAZ:  Wow, I got questions ta anser.  There ar kittis out ther who care bout me!

Most were about "do I like it here"?  Yes, yes I do.  New wet fuds bt also familar crunchys, Ayla playful an we run aroun the hous together.  She says chasin is differnt that with Iza.  Like I play and Iza whapped.  We sit and groom a bit.  And Marly.  That new ta me.

Te best thing mebbe is that there no mean doggs or grabby kids.  Me first place was hard with them.  Snarls and tail grabbin.  Foster much better.  But I like it here too.  Calm, quiet, easy.  Sleep against BT at night and sometimes Ayla and Marlly.

I like that BT tosses toys.  Some smell odd and make me wild.  Some make sounds.  Some are gud ta carry around.

One thing bother me.  I wanna go out.  Ayla and Marly do, but BT wont let me.  He says I need to come when called beter.  Im trying.  I got a new name an sounds ta learn.  I go to the clear door with them, but he says not yet.  Well, at least I get ta smell them all over when they come back.  That ecitin!

BT says my niknme is "destrocat".  Well, still not used to were evrything is so is bump stuff over.  I clime a lot,  Nok the top board off the fire place.  Nok stuff over all over.  BT does just smile and stroke me, an thats gud.  Nothin I do gets me in truble, thats gud. I relly like BT.  

Gettin calmer.  Likin new fuds.  Likin the litter boxs cause Marly and Ayla use them, so I should too.  Their stuff is OK.  Easy ta paw arond.

Lerning new werds evry dy.  Ayla talks them ta me a lot.  Marly sometime.

I stil get all spookd easily and run an hide.

I like the huts in cat trees.  Comfy an safe.  Lik I sed, sometims I get spookd, so huts are gud.

Thankful Thursday

AYLA:  First, we want to to thank Ann of Zoolatry for our wonderful new header.  It is so beautiful!

After that, I am sad Iza had to leave.  We had our differences.  But I am thankful she had a long life.  I am thankful that Marley is still here.  I am thankful that TBT is here.

I am thankful for my food.  I am thankful for clean litterboxes.  I am thankful for the little bed that rests on TBTs bed.  I like to sleep near him.

I am thankful for the shelter of the house on windy and rainy and chilly days. 

I am thankful for The Lap.  Even if I don't stay long when TBT moves.

I am thankful for the cat trees in the house.  Both the platforms and huts...

I am thankful for the moles and voles and mousies in the yard.  And I am thankful for the yard.  And the big tall fence that keeps the big doggies out.  And that gives me a place to sit up on.

 I am thankful for love and friends.

AYLA:  We dont use the huts in the cat trees much, but I have rediscovered one that TBT has seen me in a number of times lately.

It really matches my furs!

And its big enough fer ME ta actally wander around it.  Marley finds that funny (he can barely turn around).

I also like that I can easily see in 2 directions from here.  The window lets me look into the TV room; the door lets me see most of the kitchen.  And thats impawtant because those are the 2 places where TBT spends most of his waking time.  (And I see when he is setting out OUR food too of course)

Moo Cow, Part 4

MOO COW:  Since Iza had been sharing my barn, she invited me to share the cat tree huts.  It was interesting.  They are different in that you have to climb to get into them.  But they are rather similar in some ways.

I sat in one for a while to get used to it.  I liked it.  But without TBT, I wouldn't have been able to get into them.  And being up that high felt "odd".

But the cat huts ARE spacious and I liked that.

I even slept in a hut one night...  The height didn't bother me with a large platform in the front.  But I couldn't get down on my own.  Fortunately, TBT anticipated my problem and set a tray of straw for me to "do nature's call" (out of sight here).  Well, I AM a Very Good Cow, and can control where I go...

This other hut was especially nice.  There is a big cushion inside.  I had trouble walking on it, but it was GREAT for a midday nap.

Flashback Friday

This day in 2012, Marley was enjoying the huts on the cat trees.

They fit him purrfectly back then.

He loved all of the huts...

And my Dad was here.  He had his favorite chair, and enjoyed having Iza sit with him.  Iza liked him too.

Dad always claimed he didn't like cats "all that much", but he always gave them good attention and especially good solid ones like Iza.  I think he thought "guys were supposed to prefer dogs".  He was always good to the family cats though.  He even got caught talking to them nicely when he thought no one else was around.  LOL!

Dad had the best last couple years here.  He was sinking, alone, in Florida the 4 years after Mom died.  Taking care of him for 2 years was good for me too.  We talked a lot.  He didn't always make sense around sunset (that is an actual specific problem), but he did remember things most of the time and seemed happy to be with me (and the cats).

Flashback Friday

MARLEY:  Well,  lets see.  Here I was 7 years ago today!  I was enjoying the cat tree huts...

First, I washed myself real good in the small one with the square door.  Notice my l-o-n-g tongue!

I nibbled out a few small mats...

Thoroughly!

Then after that, I napped in the larger one with the mouseholey type door.

Though Im not sure I would wanna meet the mousie that fit in it...  

The little ones can be fiesty enough, MOL!

Hut Tuesday

AYLA:  Some of you suggested I should try the large hut they saw Marley in a while back.  So I did.

It is inneresting.   A bit large though, and closer to the floor, which I dont like as much.

I even left once and returned at night.  TBT tried a couple pictures, but he was a bit far away.  He mainly just wanted to show that I had returned.

And he liked the laser eyes in the dark.

But I went back to my preferred hut and let him get nearer ta take a better picture.  You know, ta show which one I really like best.
