Mancat Monday And Meezer Colors Day

And suddenly there she was!  I just knew she would show up...

But I was well-protected in my purrfect box!  She couldn't well reach over and down.  But I could.  So I had a peaceful hour...

Thankful Thursday

 Today we are thankful for Vets.  We don't always love the visits and shots and especially not the thermometer probe), but they keep us healthy.  Two weeks ago, Lori got a medication for feline upper respiratory infection and that cleared her coughing and breathing problems.  She also got Mirtazapine to encourage her to eat.  That worked great after just 6 hours.

Marley got his regular annual shots and a kidney check.  His current numbers are better than last Fall.  And he got seriously de-matted.  I couldn't do it myself.  Takes 3 hands.  One to hold him down, one to lift up a mat, and one to snip it.  So 2 techs did it great.

Marley actually likes wirebrushes so by the time they got thoroughly done with him, he was nearly passed out.

Forgot to bring the camera for both visits, so no pics.  But here is one of Marley trying to hide at a previous visit...

Caturday Saturday

 LORI AND MARLEY:  We both had vet visits last week.  The good news is that we are both improving in our health...

LORI:  I am eating again.  And I'm not sneezing much.  I can breathe through my nosie again.  The Mirtazapine ear gel worked great.  I suddenly felt hungry again 6 hours after the Vet smeared some in my ear.  The antibiotic oral dosage worked but I hate it.  TBT does both daily; grabs my scruff and turns my head to push it into my mouth and then holds me there forever until I swallow and lick my lips a bit.  But I'm not sneezing and hacking like I was.

Some parts of the Vet visit are good.  The staff all does "oohs&aahs" seeing me.  They don't see many Tonkinese cats.  I like that kind of attention.  So it is sometimes nice to go there.

MARLEY:  I went to the Vet Monday.  Mostly for annual shots and a senior wellness exam.  I don't exactly love that.  But I've had furmats TBT could pull out.  [TBT] it takes 3 hands.  One to hold him down, one to pull up the mats, a third to snip the mats.  I lack that 3rd hand.

The dematting went really well.  Two nice vet techs used a wirebrush (and I like wirebrushes) and went all over me fer like 10 minutes.  I may have even passed out a bit from pleasure...

I did get some shots and those aren't too bad.  The body temperature thing is always bad.  

The good news is that my kidney numbers are better than last time.  I don't love my kidney-care food, but it is edible and I am getting more used to it.  Royal Canin T and D.  Won't eat the Royal Canin E or the Hills stuff.

So, overall, it was a good week...

And also (naturally), TBT forgot to bring the camera with him.  So, a couple of past Vet visit pics...

Oddly, we have no old pics of me (Lori) at the Vet.  So you just get a regular one...

TBT:  Lori and Marley were sharing The Lap.  But it was awkward.  Marley is large and Lori doesn't like to share.

So she left.  Marley doesn't mind her resting up against him, but she is rather possessive of her places.  Like The Lap and the bed.

LORI:   Not our usual.  Marley had The Lap and I wanted it very much.  I needed some laptime!  Loki was bothering me.  

So I just sat on Marley.  He had been using it too long (in my opinion).

He complained about that.   But like I said, I really needed some laptime.

I needed the scritchies too.  And dont my whiskers show up great there?  You can admire them if you want.  

And Marley finally gave up and left, leaving me The Lap.   It was OK, he got personal treats later.

But I got what I wanted.

So Marley and I both ended up happy. Purrs...

MARLEY:  I regret having gotten off The Lap (to check for food).  Lori jumped right up there and then wouldnt get off when I returned...

 LORI:  I get annoyed when Marley has The Lap.  He is so big, there is no room for me there.  I keep trying, though.

My efforts dont work well.  And trying to get Marley ta move is like pushing a brick!

TBT:  Marley has The Lap.  Lori wants a spot.  But Marley pretty much fills it.  So Lori searches around...

 Marley is kind, but doesn't give up The Lap easily.  Not even for Lori.

So she curled up on my shoulder which is another favorite spot and was happy there.

You may notice fresh fruits in the upper right.  That's my snacks.  And it allows me to sit with Marley and Lori on me without disturbing them for an hour while I watch TV.

Laz was sleeping happily against the pillow on the waterbed.  One of his favorite places.  Laz isn't a lapcat.  Oh sometimes he comes up, but he doesn't stay long.  He stays a bit nervous.  

Well, LC was never a lapcat either but in her last year, after Skeeter left, she desired my company more.  Maybe as Laz grows older, he will want to sit on my lap a bit more, too.  😁

Birfday Pawty!

 MARLEY:  Today is my 13th Birfday!  And I feel GREAT.  OK, maybe I hop more than run these days but "running" around the yard really isn't important.

And Lori turned 2 on the 3rd.  So we are having a mutual Birfday Pawty!

TBT said he would provide a lot of food.  So there is a whole lot of deboned boiled chicken (no nasty spices), some shrimps, and some chopped up bacon.  And we have a lot of fresh Nip.  

And TBT will have a pocketfull of treats ta toss around every now and then ta suprise everycat.

There will be games and ladders and boxes too of course...

And for "new or nervous climbers"...

And toys galore!

And if any of you are OK outside, I and Laz will show you the best backyard spots to explore fer mousies.  We have a lot of them.

Lori and Ayla will manage the inside.  Though Lori might join in the mousie-hunting some.

TBT will make the 4 litterboxes are clean and that there is plenty of good foods aside from the special ones.

Pawty starts at midnight and goes to the next midnight.  But if you are too worn out ta telport home, there are the trees ta nap in.  

And we have a final surprise!  The TV will be showing "Cat-Sitter" DVD all day.  Mousies, birdies, hamsters and you can paw at the screen all you want!

LORI:  Marley and I arent the usual Twofur combination, but he is OK.  1t was raining a couple days ago, an we were waitin fer it ta stop .

But really we are posting these pics today so you who havent had much fer a while can see some.

We might be having some of the best weather in the US!

Rain evry few days this month and temperatures only 90 or less.  We wish we could give that ta evryyone!
