Flashback Friday

Today is this week from 2011.

The Mews were enjoying sniffies through the deck screen door.  Ayla was really stretching up for it.  Meezers have long necks!

Ayla and Marley were still able to fit on my lap together.

And when that shirt went into the laundry hamper, Marley decided it was a good smell to nap on...

Iza and Marley shared a windowsill, but Iza decided it was "crowded".

But they shared a chair well enough later...

Flashback Friday

This week we return to dates of the week.   This time, 2016.

Marley and Iza were sharing The Lap peacefully.

They always did get along well.

They didn't cuddle much elsewhere.

And Ayla was nesting in the laundry hamper...  Famiiar smells also atracted her.

Caturday Saturday

LAZ:   Ayla enjoys napping in the laundrey hamper a lot.  So since SHE was outside and *I* was in (for once), I decided ta give it a try.  I mean, I spend most of the night curled up against TBT (allus atop the blankies), so its not like I not like his purrsonal scent identifications.  

It smelled comforting.  The cloths were piled thick.  But I didnt like bein so enclosed.  I guess Ayla and I feel safe in differnt ways.  She likes being surrounded.  I like ta be able ta see all around.  Well, I had ta be watchful for doggies and sticky-beins when I was younger...

I think I will leave the hamper ta Ayla.  But at least I tried it out.

Laundry Hamper Thursday

AYLA:  You've seen me in the laundry hamper before, but I DO like it there a lot.  It is soft, hidden, and smells like Dad.

Until Dad can make a good lap again (he cant put a foot up on a knee these days), this is the best I can do.  Ya take what ya can get sometimes.

AYLA:  I was napping in the laundry hamper.  I like it there.  It smells of TBT.

So he saw me there at dinnertime, and put the bowl down.  SALMON!   I ate.

Later this afternoon, it becomes Winter.  We are getting a warn week.  Sure, why not?   And I could do without Winter anyway.  Go right from Fall to Spring...

Womancat Wensday

AYLA:  I sleep all over the house.  A few days in one spot, a few days in the next.  I have a dozen great spots.

So it has been a while since TBT found me in the laundry hamper.  Its a good spot. 

There have to be enough cloths in it.  And they have ta smell right.

When he does too much werk outside, they are a bit strong.  But not enough and they smell weak.

Tonight was JUST RIGHT!

AYLA:  Well, it seems it wasnt hard to guess that was Iza's tail yesserday!  Evryone got it right.  Here is the whole picture...

Ya see, Marley was in the kitchen when he heard Iza come clumping down the hall.  When she rounded the corner, he pounced her.  Her tail was even poofier at first (like a big old pine cone), but it took TBT a minute to get the camera on her.

I know the title says Saturday, but all the pictures here today happened yesserday.   First, I was sleepin in the hamper in the afternoon.

 An then, after he went to bed, I got right back in fer the night. 

So ya can tell he was wearing a red shirt yesserday...  Today he is doing all the laundry.

Deck, and Easy Like Sunday

AYLA:  First, we got a comment from Alasandra, The Cats and Dogs about why there was a mailbox attached to our deck.  Some others of you might have wondered too.

Well, TBT likes to find unusual uses fer things, and he got tired of searching around in the shed fer his small gardening tools.  So one day while he was getting the mail, it occurred ta him that mailboxes are really just nice little weatherproof boxes.  So... he attached one to the old deck (and moved it to the new deck) to hold hose nozzles, snap-on couplers, plumbers tape, etc.  And there is one out in the back veggie garden to hold trowels, hand-weeders, pruners, dirt knives, etc.  They are very handy!

Now, fer Easy Like Sunday, I am takin my Easy Morning Nap in the laundry hamper.  Warm clean cloths are nice and all, but old worn cloths have a certain familiar smell to them.  Sort of like nappin on TBTs lap, but these dont move around anny.

I dont know where Marley an Iza are right now; outside probly.

Hamper Diving

AYLA: Since I like ta spend most of the day in the bedroom, Im allus lookin fer good places ta nap or sit.  Im in the laundry hamper this time.

Lookin around, I see Im kinna higher up than usual.

That probly means its time fer TBT ta do his laundry again.  I'll hafta remind him its high in here...

But fer now, that makes it a good place ta sit up and guard my ancient cloth mousie.

Its my favrit mousie and I dont want it getting mousenapped cuz sometimes its hard to find again later!  I'd bring it up in here with me, but it would probly end up gettin washed, and theres not much left of it as it is.

Aylalocks

AYLA:   TBT told us yesserday that last night would be the shortest night of the year, so I decided to find a spot where I could get the most undisturbed sleep.  So I checked out the laundry hampers.  The first one was too small even fer me, the second one was too big (an dint have much in it), but the third one looked just right!

It had some of TBT clothes in it, so it smelled comforting, then there was a large fluffy towel on top that was good fer curling up on.  I stayed in there ALL night!

Comforting Smells

IZA:  We all have some smells of our Beins that we find comforting and familiar.  For us, its mostly TBTs clothes...

I like TBTs socks when he takes his shoes off.

Ayla goes in for the whole experience.  She likes ta sleep in one of the laundry bins.

I find that a bit TOO comforting, iffen ya know what I mean...

Easy Like Sunday

MARLEY:  Here I am in the laundry hamper again.  I LOVE spendin my Easy Sundays here...

An iffen Ayla shows up again today Im NOT gonna invite her ta share cuz taday I want it all to myself!

Besides, I shared the Lap with her yesserday an she complained...

Ahhh, JUST right.

I am really lucky ta have a special place like this.  There are probly cats somewhere who don't have a lovely private hamper ta nap in...
