BINQ: I actually spent some time sleeping on the watery bed!
I dont usually do that. Lori says the bed is hers. But Marley and Taz ignore that, so I thought I would give it a try.
Nothing bad happened...
BINQ: I actually spent some time sleeping on the watery bed!
I dont usually do that. Lori says the bed is hers. But Marley and Taz ignore that, so I thought I would give it a try.
MARLEY: I slept here all night from the time TBT went to bed until he got up.
In fact TBT shoved with his foot in the morning to make sure I was still alive! I was of course and even went belly-up for some scritchies. I mean, I won't even be 14 until next month! But it is nice that he worries about me. I am the old cat here these days.
It is almost funny to think back on my life. I was a shelter kitten, and some Beings bought me to give to a friend. And she turned out to be allergic to cats. So TBT found me and took me home. He has the sneezies too a bit but he doesn't mind all that much. He says we are worth it.
TBT: This is turning into "Binq Week"! I've mentioned before that it took months for Binq to enter the bedroom. Then she joined me there in daytime when I was sorting laundry, etc, and then finally walked around me briefly on the bed at night and enjoyed some scritchies.
Well, she finally sat next to me there a couple of nights ago and purred. And then, she curled up against me and fell asleep! Sadly, with my still-injured hip I can't very easily twist around to grab the camera, turn on the bed light, and take a picture.
But I was very thankful...
AYLA: I've been enjoyin a new sleepin spot lately.
And what is also very nice is that I can see if anycat is on the bed around TBT at night before I hop up. I dont like ta get surprised and find somecat is already there next ta him!
AYLA: TBT has been surprised at how much more comfortable I feel the past month being out and around the house. I show up in the kitchen, I visit him at the computer desk (where I help with some posts about me), and I sleep more "out in the open" (bedroom, but not hidden away). And more of those pics soon.
But what really surprised him was when he woke up briefly and saw me sleeping next to Marley. Well, Marley is OK to me, but TBT wasn't expecting ta see me sleeping next ta anycat...
I've even been sleeping near Lori a few times (on opposite sides of TBT but once within a foot of her), but he doesn't have pictures of that yet.
MARLEY: Cushy, softy chair. In the quiet computer room after TBT goes to bed. Great place to sleep...
In the early morning, while TBT is (always) still in bed (an it is fine with ME if Laz and Lori are sleeping there too), I take a corner of the bed. Less waterbeddery movement there.
MARLEY: I know when TBT is getting ready to go to bed. The TV and lights go off in the other rooms. I 'm old enough to know the routine. So I go and relax in a corner of the bed and wait.
We Mews have all our tummies filled for the night, so we are good for settling down in comfort. Ayla has her own 2 places. She sleeps unner the bed headboard or on a mat she likes in The Mews Room.
Laz and Lori are already on the bed, but they haven't learned the routine yet. It takes a while, and they are really focussed on each other. So TBT has to pull the covers back slowly to get them to move so he can crawl in.
Since I'm already on the bed when they get moved, I don't really know where they go. I mostly just stay there. I like to sleep close to him but not touching. I used to sleep against him when I was a kitten.
And it seems to be a thing with new Mews. Laz did his first year. Lori does crawl unner the covers around dawn. TBT turns around a lot at night. Maybe only kittens can stand that. Laz and I like the corners on the bed. Close but not getting pushed around when TBT moves.
Laz and Lori used to sleep together in the red cat bed.
I bought a large bed for Marley years ago because he was so large (the vet says 16 lbs; my digital scale says 18 sometimes). He never liked it (preferring the platform tree I built for Skeeter and LC a long time. And Laz and Lori ignored it. It was actually a doggie bed, though of course no doggie ever slept in it. Maybe it was too large for them.
Well, they have suddenly decided that the old "doggie" bed is now the best place to sleep at night! They both fit in "purrfectly"...
I am very glad to see them sleeping together again!
AYLA: Who says ya have ta wait for warm laundry ta be dumped out of the basket?
LAZ: That's OK, I like the drawer... Cozy, sheltered, comfy...MARLEY: I LOVE the leg-lap! TBT can sit still longer that way. Iza used to love the real lap and he could pick her up like a sleeping Sticky-Kid and move her when a leg went all stiff without her nearly waking up. Not me though. A twitch and I leave!
So I love the leg! And his hand is right there. I can take being scritched gently FOREVER...
