TBT: So, a few days ago, Taz and Binq experienced 1" of snow. Yesterday, we ended up with about 10". OK, that's not much compared to other places, but Washington DC rarely gets much. We are somewhat protected from storms from the West by the Appalachian Mountains. The bad ones come up from the South (full of moisture) and hit standing cold air. This one came from the West.
We were predicted to get 3-5". But this was a real "Arctic Express", moving fast. It went over the Appalachians like they weren't there. So I have 10" on the ground and some local areas have 12". First real snowstorm in 3 years. And it arrived with 30 mph gusts which will continue several days.
Marley has experienced "deep" snow before (2' once). But Lori, Taz, and Binq certainly have not (they are just too young).
I took some pictures of them looking at it all...
She walked back and forth near the house a few times (you can see her paw tracks.. So Taz, not wishing to seem afraid, went out too. But he found a snowless place to sit.
