Caturday Saturday

LORI:  This has definitely become my goto place fer naps.  The bed is nice, but the door is usually closed cuz Taz started peeing there again last month.  The trees huts are nice, and I do spend time. in 2 of them.

But the hood is warm an private (room fer one only) and none of the others seem innerested in it annyway.

TBT laffs that I keep "missing" the cloth pillow he arranged fer me.  But I know what I like.

It s quite comfy!

Its so big, I'm surprised Marley doesnt nap here...

Caturday Saturday

LORI:  I've really taken to the aquarium hood lately!  I nap there almost all the time inside.  Well, OK, there is a particular cat tree hut I like, but the aquarium hood is warmer...

None of that involves The Lap though.  That's differnt and special.

Caturday Saturday

LORI:  I tinkled in the toilet again.  Its a memory from kittennhood that comes to my mind sometimes.  Breeders often train kittens to do that.  TBT says Ayla did that sometimes too.

I do it more often than TBT knows because we are seldom in that place at the same time.

No pics of ME doing that of course.  I'm just mentioning it.  But here are a few pics of other cats doing it...

Heard the sound of water tinkling in the bathroom. Went in to ...

Well, at least it wasn't me being photoed!  MOL!

TBT wishes we would all do that.  It would save 3/4 of the time cleaning the litter boxes...  But apparently, I am the onlycat with that skill here...😊

Of course, I like Dinner on the bed too...  Or facing into a corner.  Annywhere where nocat will bother me.

Caturday Saturday

LORI AND MARLEY:  We both had vet visits last week.  The good news is that we are both improving in our health...

LORI:  I am eating again.  And I'm not sneezing much.  I can breathe through my nosie again.  The Mirtazapine ear gel worked great.  I suddenly felt hungry again 6 hours after the Vet smeared some in my ear.  The antibiotic oral dosage worked but I hate it.  TBT does both daily; grabs my scruff and turns my head to push it into my mouth and then holds me there forever until I swallow and lick my lips a bit.  But I'm not sneezing and hacking like I was.

Some parts of the Vet visit are good.  The staff all does "oohs&aahs" seeing me.  They don't see many Tonkinese cats.  I like that kind of attention.  So it is sometimes nice to go there.

MARLEY:  I went to the Vet Monday.  Mostly for annual shots and a senior wellness exam.  I don't exactly love that.  But I've had furmats TBT could pull out.  [TBT] it takes 3 hands.  One to hold him down, one to pull up the mats, a third to snip the mats.  I lack that 3rd hand.

The dematting went really well.  Two nice vet techs used a wirebrush (and I like wirebrushes) and went all over me fer like 10 minutes.  I may have even passed out a bit from pleasure...

I did get some shots and those aren't too bad.  The body temperature thing is always bad.

The good news is that my kidney numbers are better than last time.  I don't love my kidney-care food, but it is edible and I am getting more used to it.  Royal Canin T and D.  Won't eat the Royal Canin E or the Hills stuff.

So, overall, it was a good week...

And also (naturally), TBT forgot to bring the camera with him.  So, a couple of past Vet visit pics...

Marley did his best to hide.

Oddly, we have no old pics of me (Lori) at the Vet.  So you just get a regular one...

Feeling better is great!

Caturday Saturday

I recently posted a pic with Binq and Marley enjoying "bunk beds"...

And there was a question about the gadget in front...

It is a water fountain.  Sadly, it is clogged now and I really need to clean it.  But when it was working, it was lovely.

Taz enjoyed it.

So that's on the "To Do" list...

That whole area really needs some attention, grit and fur under the plant stand.  The last place I clean, LOL!

LORI:    A nice pile of laundry always makes us all happy.  I will even tolerate Taz there!

Caturday Saturday

TAZ:    Who doesnt love a good box?

Marley and I spent some time just sitting around together.

Marley can sit in the box when I'M done with it.

But I wont make him wait too long.  After all, we're friends...

Caturday Saturday

TBT:  There were nice comments about the Ayla/Iza/Marley trio.

When I was younger, I tended to have one cat at a time. I lived in apartments with other guys and they could accept one but didn't want more around. I sometimes had aa apartment by myself and had 2 (Ralph and Sport-Sport in the 70s).

Tinkerbelle came to me fin the 80s rom a sister who said she was mean.  And she was.  Bitten across the spine by a dog when she was a kitten, she was always sensitive to that area when stroked.  She angered easily due to tha and used her claws.  I learned how to raise my hand over the sensitive wound.  She came with me to this place in 1986.  And simply vanished one day in the 90s.  I don't recall what year it was.

But I had found a duo in 92/93.  Both on HalloweenDay, LOL!  Those were Skeeter and LC.  Skeeter for "mosquito" (he buzzed around me a lot) and LC for "Little Cow" (she was black and white).  They became inseperatable.

Ayla came to me as a sort of rescue.  She was too small for the breeder to as a Queen and I always did want a Siamese cat.

Skeeter died of kidney problems that year, and LC followed him over Bridge.  I added Iza and Marley to the house shortly thereafter.  Ayla and Iza had some fussy problems the 1st year (both wanted to be Alpha Cat), but adopting Marley settled that down in 2010.

Ayla and Iza went from this (and it wasn't play)...

To this, in a few months with Marley's calm presence..

They became the best 3 cats together I've ever had.

The current Mews show promise.  Lori still doesn't exactly love Taz or Binq, but things have settled down.  After 16 months, she seems resigned to accepting their presence.   I've even seen a few instances of mutual grooming, head-butting, and shared time close to me in bed.

Individually, each are doing well.  Marley eats his Royal Canin T and D flavors pretty well (he doesn't like the E).  He doesn't go outside much these days, so I feed him when the others are out.  Without "regular" food, he eats it.  He is my main lapcat.

The other 3 are utterly attached to me in their own ways.  Lori is always close and wants to be on my shoulder.  And she stretches up my legs when I stand still.

Taz is always in whatever room I'm in.  He even wants to stay in the bathroom when I take a shower.  The sound of running water has bothered all previous cats, but he just sits there on the vanity.  And he hasn't peed on the bed in a couple months.

Binq has become braver.  She used to think the bedroom was "the other Mews' place", but has lately spent some time on the bed at night and greets me there every morning when I get up.

She still won't tolerate being picked up.  The vet can't find anything wrong her belly, but she seems to be very sensitive there.  And she still tends to stay on the deck.  The good news about that is that she used to be extemely reluctAnt to go out on iT, now she is quite enthusiastic.

And she really surprised me last week.  I heard a noise outside and opened the deck door.  Both Taz and Lori ran in all poofy-tailed.  There was an intruder cat at the bottom of the stairs.  Yet Binq not only stood at the top and hissed, she ran down the stairs at it!

It fled.  She walked into the house.  Her tail was very proudly straight and upright without the least poof!  You can rest assured she got lots of strokes, treats, and attention after that!

So things are looking rather assuring lately.

Some pictures from last year this week...

Caturday Saturday

LORI:  Binq got ta show off poses on Wensday, so it is MY turn...

And this one shows my tiny little beard.

Am I more bootiful than Binq or what?  I am very certain about that.
