MARLEY:  Monday is usually MY day, so since we got a group awardie from Ramblingon, I will reply fer all of us.

First, we wanna thank Ramblingon fer the awardie and fer saying such NICE things about us!  We sure love ALL awardies, but we nearly blushed with all the kind werds.  Well, OK, we dint ezactly "blush" cuz we cant do that real well, but we felt a blush INSIDE us...

Oh my goodness, we got TWO awardies today!

As a group, we got the new "Nip Awardie" Nerrissa created and The Celestial Kitties passed on to US!   It a lovely one and we are collectively VERY proud to receive it.

We need to mention something we want to celebrate.  We decide to celebrate FOOD!  We know we just posted this picture, but we are STILL ecited, so ..

An THEN I, Marley, got an awardie to ME individually!  I am stunned.  I never got one just fer ME before.  It was from SPITTY!  Its the Nip Awardie too, but this one is just fer ME, so I gotta make it a little different.

That's EASY.  While I like the FOODS, I also like OUTSIDE!  In fact, I wanna go out in the morning even BEFORE I get breakfast.  Ya know why?  Cuz I catch MOUSIES outside and they are BETTER than canned BREAKFAST!  I like MOUSIES better than TREATS!

AYLA:  Ahem!  (Is this microphone on?)  Ahem.  As the eldest cat in the house, and as a Princess used to public ceremonies, I have been chosen taken it upon myself to announce that we were awarded the Addictive Blog Award by Nerissa

We are THRILLED!  As the first ta be awarded this awardie [What Marley?  Oh, not first?]  Ahem!  As one of the FEW blogs [What NOW Marley?  Oh, many?]  Ahem!!!  As a proud recipient of this wunnerful award, we thank Nerissa.  And we thank Onespoiledcat fer giving it to Nerissa, and we thank the one who gave it to Onespoiled cat, and back and back to the ONE who started it, whoever that may be.  Who, of course, surely had US in mind fer receiving it at this special point of time in the general course of Feline existence on the planet Catearth in the Milk galaxy in the Treat universe. 

Thank you all for coming.  And [WHAT?  MARLEY, IF YOU INNERUPT ME ONE MORE TIME... Oh, passing it on?]  AHEM!  Apparently, we have some administrative details to take care of.  Like, "why we blog and how we started"  and passing it along to others we find addictive.  And since Marley has been SO HELPFUL, I will simply turn the podium over to him right now.  TAKE IT, MARLEY!

MARLEY:  WHAT?  Ack, I wasnt expecting that.  Um, "why we blog an how it started?"  I dont really know.  Help!

TBT:  Calm down Marley, I'll help with this part; none of you were here then...

Second part first...  In 2004, I found Max The Psychokitty's blog at work while looking up some cat stuff.  I followed it at home for 2 years.  When I retired in 2006, I noticed a button on his or another's blog (I found a few others at Max's blog) about "free blog, press here".  Skeeter and LC had been reading Max's blog with me, and they wanted their own.  I swallowed a couple of nervous breaths and *clicked*.

It was a bit confusing at first, but I figured it out well enough to make a 1st post for them.  It was Skeeter and LC's blog from the start.

First part second...  We blog because we met such great cat friends in the earliest days (and to today).  We wanted to try doing the same.  Skeeter and LC LOVED telling me about the day's adventures in a way that they hadn't before.  Oh, they told me about them of course, we ALWAYS talked to each other.  But it became in more detail.  And eventually with pictures.  When Skeeter and LC saw their pictures on the blog the first time, they were just SO PROUD.

And there was an unexpected consequence of blogging.  Because they were so proud of blogging, they wanted other kitties to see their blog.  So we started visiting other kitty's blogs to see what they did on THEIR blogs.  And then THEY started visiting US, and it kind of snowballed (um, if your name is Snowball, don't worry, there's no connection).

So it was Skeeter (Mosquito) and LC (Little Cow, Lucky Cat) at first.

Two years after the blog started, Skeeter had to leave for the Bridge, but Ayla had joined the group.  A year after THAT, LC had to leave, and Iza joined right after.  Then Marley came along another two years later.

So the blog started because of Skeeter and LC who wanted to blog after seeing Max and others blogging, but is now Ayla, Iza, and Marley, who think blogging is just a part of life because they always have.  I hope it will stay that way for many many years!

Now, for the passing of the award, I turn it over to Iza!  TAKE IT IZA!!!

IZA:  WHAT???  You know I HATE research!  Argghhh...  OK, be back in an hour or so!

Two Awardies!

We got 2 awardies the past week!  We are thrilled to get BOTH of them.

The first was the The Sunshine Award, from Nerissa to all of us!  Thank you Nerissa, we are honored.  Sunshine makes flowers bloom, rainbows glow, and warms us kitties.  We are delighted that Nerissa thinks we warm our fellow(ess) kitties!  We got it once before, so we will add Nerissa's name to the caption saying who awarded it to us!  But we want to say that getting an award twice is VERY special.  Double Good, Double Good, Double Good Fun!

The second is the Illuminating Blogger Award, from both Katie Isabella and Melly!  To ME, Ayla...  Oh wow, my OWN awardie?  This is cool.  I'm supposed to tell one illuminating fact about myself. I thought about this all day and most of the night (well, when I wasnt eating dinner or napping).

I guess the most illuminating thing about me is that I had ta get the ladygarden operation THREE times!  Some of you know that, but mebbe not evryone.  In Jan 2008 and Dec 2008, by the original vet.  That dint get me all fixed right and I had horrible long yowling weerd ITCHY days evry few weeks fer a couple years.

Then I got a infection last Fall an OUR vet hadda operate.  He found I had most of my parts still in "there" an THAT was the cause of the infection.  He took them out an I've been fine ever since.  That infection turned out ta be a REAL GOOD THING!

So, my BIG DEAL is that I got the ladygarden operation THREE TIMES.

I guess I could mention how I got my name, too.  TBT read this 'Clan of the Cave Bear' book by a Miss Jean Auel with a girl Bein character that he really admired and did real hard/cool stuff in the days before the cat blogoshere, us, an even puters!  He decided WAY BACK THEN that he would find the RIGHT cat to give that name to.  Obviously, I was THAT RIGHT CAT.  So my name became "AYLA".  The "princess" part came after, when it was obvious I was royal.

(TBT:  And when you for sure could no longer become a "queen". LOL!)

Now, I gotta decide who ta pass on this award to.  Its not easy.  It takes special kitties to deserve this special award, now that I have it...  I'm not sure how many, but I think 5 is a good number (toes on paw).

A New Awardie

We got this from our good friend Zeroichi and it was greatly appreciated.  We havent gotten an awardie fer a while.  We are supposed to give it to 5 other cats.

But we think we will make a change on that fer ourselfs.  We want to give all 5 of our awards to our friend Admiral Hestorb who went over the Bridge.  Our unnerstanding is that "Liebster" means "sweetheart, beloved, and darling".  Farewell Liebster Hestorb.  You go with an award dear girl...

An Award

 Thank you very much; I don’t think I have ever gotten an award before.  Since the award came from Cheysuli, I think I should respond here rather than my own blog (but I may post it there, too)…

First, a few of you may have seen a reply Monday that disappeared a few hours later. That's because I didn't like my first answers and decided to save it to work on later.  Well, apparently, I hit the POST button out of habit, and the partial post showed up.  I deleted it as soon as I noticed it.

1. What would your perfect day consist of?

Getting up early to do weeding and watering the garden, being outside with Iza and Ayla while we walk around the yard together, sitting inside later watching science/nature TV with one or both on my lap, posting about the days events, preparing a good dinner for all of us, tossing toys around while I eat dinner commenting to kitty blogs after dinner, and then checking for kitty blog comments before going to bed.

 Keep in mind, however, that I almost never have a “perfect day”.  That “getting up early” part is hard…

2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?

Twill khaki jeans and shirts!  Sensible, durable items… 

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?

New compost bins, a new kitty tree with curved platforms, veggie garden with heirloom tomatoes, and rebuilding an old garden bench.

4. Walking in the woods in wellies or barefoot on the beach?

Wellies.  I would never walk barefoot anywhere.

5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?

No.  I have several very favorite trees in the yard though.

6. Growing your veggies or nipping to the Supermarket?

I love growing my own veggies.  During the off season, I will buy grocery veggies when I must.

7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?

Family lore says that Barbara Feldon and I had paternal great (or great-great) grandmothers who were sisters.  And a maternal great (or great great) uncle was the title character of a book on railroad engineers (High Green and the Bark Peelers).

8. Slap up a meal in a posh restaurant or fish n chips from a wrapper?

That’s a tricky one.  I haven’t got “take-out” for years.  And I don’t like restaurants.  I prefer to cook for myself.  Pork stir fry one day, steak the next, chicken thighs after that, and then shrimps in home-made cocktail and tarter sauce the next…  And then maybe I’ll have a big lettuce salad with ham cubes…

I’d order Moo Goo Gai Pan or Char Shu Ding if ordering out.

9. Which element do you most resonate with–earth, air, fire or water?

Definitely Earth.  I like my feet on the ground and my hands in the dirt.

10. Do you believe in fairies?

Well, not really, but one of my favorite pieces from Fantasia is Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairies.  And here is the Tinker Bell calendar next to my computer:

I'm going to have to see who doesn't have this award yet.  Ayla and Iza probably know, but Iza is outside and Ayla is napping, so I'll do that part later...

We are so happy ta get this new awardie from our good friend Herman!  Thank you very very much... It is a great awardie!

We saw this one bein passed around and loved it.  Now we finally get to reply about things about us and pass it ta others.  Yay!

IZA:

1.  I love beating/pushing the bubbler water bowl around.
2.  Tossed squiggles are the BEST things ever.  I will chase them into annywhere.  I ended up in the dryer once.  (It wasn't turned on)
3.  Rattley mice are next best.  I bat those things around all night an day.
4.  I can sleep unner the blankies ALL night.
5.  I love following The Big Thing around the yard.  Especially cool is hidin in the plants and pouncing his shoes when he isnt lookin.

AYLA:

6.  Lickin the foodbowls so clean they dont have ta be washed (they get washed annyway).
7.  Chasin pompom fluff balls is SO great.
8.  The higher I get, the happier I am.
9.  Iza cant climb at all an I love that.  All heights belong ta ME!

According to the rules, we are supposed to tell you seven new things about ourselfs.  That isn't easy.  We're not sure there IS 7 new things ta tell.  But we'll try.  Iffen some of them arent new, we hope they are at least innerestin!

1. When a toy is tossed ta me, I usually ignore it.  But sometimes I bounce all around it an give it a single subtle whack.

2. I eat my canned food so fast Iza has barely started when Im done.

4. I love ta sit on toppa the stepladder leanin on the wall of the basement.  Cuz I can touch the ceiling there.

IZA:

5.  I love ta lay on my back touchin the walls wif my back feet.  The whole world looks funny that way.

6. I like ta watch ta see iffen Ayla eats her canned food before I taste mine.

7.  And after we eat, I spend a half hour patiently scratchin around both our bowls ta cover it up.  Even iffen they are as clean as new!  Yet I never cover up in the litterbox...

AYLA:  Oh I am so happy!  Jonesie gave me this lovely award for my BLUE EYES...

I am sposed ta list something of me for each color (blue, pink, orange, green) and award it to 4 cats, about colors.

Hmm, that sounds tricky.  My blue eyes are already used up, theres nothing pink around the whole house, the only thing I know whats orange is oranges an I dont like those, an we got green grass, but its borin looking.  So I better think, Think, THINK!

This is all so WUNNERFUL!  We can hardly belief all this good fortune.
