Friday's Feast

The Big Thing (Skeeter, LC, and Ayla all passed on this one pleading "what the Mouse-droppings are they talking about?"):

Appetizer
What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

Space Angel from the early 1960’s. Probably no one remembers it. It was only 5 minutes long each episode, and I would run inside to watch it for those few minutes. The big deal was that it had human mouths embedded in the animation speaking the lines (rather seamlessly, as I recall). It was the reason I got my first wristwatch. BTW, I've only had 2 wristwatches. The 1st lasted til I went to college, The replacement (a digital "Phasar") works just fine after 40 years. The jewelers are astonished to see it every time I need a new battery.

Soup
Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I recently did (January). She was a 7 month old female Siamese cat. Her name is Ayla (after the heroine in ‘The Clan of the Cave Bear’ books by Jean Auel. And, for those who know the story, the next cat will be male and named Jondalar. He may show up here sooner than I expect.

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

Zero, nien, nada, “like ketchup on a salad”, nyet, hiss…

Main Course
What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

Classical mostly. Used to be classic rock, but after hearing the Beatles or Springsteen the 10,000th time, I gave up. Classical has an calming effect (even when vigorous and loud because it is instrumental (hate opera). I listen to some jazz, which is basically the modern version of classical. Some NPR talk radio when they are discussing science or factual subjects.

Dessert
When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?

LOL! Every room in the house has at least one clock in it now. You would think a person with a wristwatch would never need other clocks… But last year, I bought 4 wall clocks. Cheap things, but they keep accurate time. I had a kitchen clock and a bedroom alarm clock, but I wanted more. So there is now one in the dining room, one in the living room, one in the basement, and one in the computer room. Why? Well, the ones in the main rooms of the house are so I don’t miss any of the few science TV shows I PLAN to watch. The basement clock is there because I take my wristwatch off before using power tools (think “Velcro strap and sawblade”). The one in the computer room is to remind me to go to bed before sunrise!
