A bit of mancat-wrassling... Its ok, they are friendly about it.
Wow, look at Marley's tail!
Laz always stops first. He is brave and energetic but not stupid. MOL!

MARLEY AND LAZ: We stopped a wrassling match.
Laz always starts it. But Marley always ends it without harming Laz. He just puts up with Laz's attempts. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Or a mouse these days. But I think that he finds Laz's pounces more amusing than worrisome.
Laz's problem might be that he just has too much energy to release on his own. I've tried wand toys, tossed toy mousies, and springs, but he doesn't really react to those (the wand play wears me out quickly).
I sometimes think he really needs another male cat about his own size to play with, but I am reluctant to go to 4 again. When I had 4, it felt like 1 too many. Marley is too big for him and Lori is too small.
16 pound Marley has little to fear from 9 pound Laz. So he puts up with it rather calmly. He might even enjoy the "play". It is hard to tell sometimes, but Laz's wrassling never seems to bother him.
TBT: One counter in my kitchen is becoming a feline food/medical center! It started with regular canned food. Just the day's worth (the rest in in the linen closet since I buy them cases at a time). That way, they get the right amount each day, if not on a strict schedule.
Months ago, I had to buy some some "magic dust" (freeze-dried chicken I crush on food for Laz and Lori - they can get fussy sometimes and that gets them eating). Then I put all the food bowls and treat pouches in the cabinet above. And since I don't use soup spoons myself, I use them for cat food. Which means another small container to hold them.
Laz's "kitty Prozac" (Fluoxetine) arrived Thursday evening and I gave him his 1st daily 2.5 mg pill last night. It says to give each evening (no idea why)I crushed it in a tiny glass bowl using a spoon and swirled it into his food. He ate it. So now I have the glass bowl with Laz's stuff. And his "calming treat for each morning.
Marley has special "kidney care" wet food. Hill's chicken and stew. The vet gave me a pork liver mix too, but he doesn't like that as much. I'm mixing both 50-50 with regular food for now. I have a prescription for Royal Canin too and will get some flavors of that soon.
Marley goes to the vet later today for a sub-fluid injection. I'm going to try to do it myself this time announcing each step to the technician for approval. If that works, I will be bring the fluid bag, drip line, and needles home to do it myself for the rest of September. After that, he gets another blood panel.
And BTW, I got his previous results from the vet. BUN should be 15-32 and was 63.7. The creatinine should be 0.8-1.8 and was 2.4. If there is no improvement after a month, I'm not sure there is any value in continuing the fluid injections and will stop.
But also schedule him for another blood panel at the end of October. If his numbers are worse, it means the fluids do help and I will resume them. I just mean that if they don't help, it seems cruel to keep forcing him to suffer the procedure. But if it helps any, I will.
Lori doesn't need any meds.
So here's what the counter will look like... Marley and Laz will both have their own plastic container to hold their own stuff.
Marley's fluid bag and drip line can stay hanging on the wall over the dresser at room temperature. But his needles and a few cans of kidney care food will stay in the container.
Laz's container will have his morning calming treats and evening calming pills.
Next to those will be 6 cans of regular food (a days worth), the jar of kibbles, the jar of freeze-dried chicken, and a small narrow vase for the soup spoons. I suppose that, someday soon, there will be a plastic container for my own meds (*sigh*).
I'll take pictures when the "cat counter" is all set up...
Well, we aren't "cuddling", but we like ta stay close sometimes...
BTW, notice that we have really ripped that sisal rope to shreds. TBT better redo it! He says he not only will, but will remove the board and wrap new sisal directly around the post tight as he can so we can get at it in all directions. Yay!
We can't wait to get at that...
Try that on me, huh? Marley and Laz doing some nightime wrassling!
I'll counter with a neck-bite!And who is saying what to who? Hard to tell, isn't it?
Wrassling: Its not an equal contest. Marley is much bigger than me. But he is careful and I start it for fun.
He plays along. He could probably kill me if he wanted to. He is twice my weight and you should see his claws!
He waits fer me to start again. I am learning a lot of good moves! I have to be more "defensive" with him. Seriously attacking Marley is sort of hopeless.
Laz loves to wrassle. He does it gently with both Marley and Lori. Here are Laz and Marley Bro-wrasslin...
MARLEY: OK, OK... Me and Laz both like Lori well enough. She and I sniff each other peacefully. She doesn't bother me (though she bats my tail a couple times a day). Laz is getting along with her even though she chases him around a lot. I havent quite figured that out yet. He seems a bit uncertain how ta react, ya know? He doesnt seem ta be sure what ta do around a kitten... But as long as he stay calm to her, its OK.
Ayla hisses but it is kinna half-hearted and she just leaves.
But it IS Twofur Tuesday and it is Me and Lazs turn on the blog...
TBT got Lori's picture, birfday, an gotcha day added ta the sidebar. Iffen ya care about that sort of thing... And oh yeah, we got a new Header from Ann. Gorgeous as usual...
LAZ: I sure love nappin with Marley.
He is such a good Big Brother.MARLEY and LAZ:
Yesterday...
Let us IN!
MARLEY: Laz an I are helping to make the bed today. Well, he likes the sheets to be flat, so we layed on then to do that.
Its not OUR fault that the bed it so warm that we fall asleep on it...MARLEY:
Laz is a Good Brofur. We play around in the house a lot. Outside is less offen, but we did yesserday.I'm a lucky cat! I found a good Bein (I went right up on his lap when he came ta adopt me), Ayla and Iza liked me from my first day, and my new brofur Las thinks I'm the best thing since canned toona!
Ta make things clear, I loved my original Bein. She was real kind, but I made her sneeze something fierce, so she looked for someone I din't and TBT came by. When I scratched up dander in my furs on his lap, it didn't bother him a bit, so off I went.
And what a crew I've met because of that. I might have been an 'only" kitty otherwise. Which might have been OK cuz she really gave me great attention. But I would have never gone outside (it was a "condo") or met other kitties...
We're nappin today.
The camera wakes me up more than it does Marley. He has more years used ta it. I have just over one.
Marley says I will get used ta it. I dunno. It is not the flashy, but the attention to me gets my attention. I hope that makes sense. Well, I KNOW when Im bein looked at...
Marley says he was thrilled at how many friends came ta his Birfday Pawty. In fact, that is probly why he is nappin so well right now. He probly wont get up until he is REALLY hungry.
An he wants ta thank Timmy Tomcat's Family fer the great birfday card...
