Toy Thursday

TBT:  THIS showed up on the living room floor recently.

I don't know where it came from.  Lori is a real searcher and finds stuff I haven't seen in a while so it is probably something she found in the basement (where many toys go to hide for years).  I don't even know what it was.  In fact, I can only guess it was a cat toy from the black tassle still attached.  The part on the right might have been a head.  I can imagine seeing legs in the lower left.

My best guess is that it is left over from Iza.  She had a real love and talent for skinning and shredding her toys.  I have a dozen saved plastic mushroom containers.  They are the same shape and color and nest together.  One is full of Iza's skinned rattley mousies.  Seriously, the container of toy mousie skins and the plastic bodies the skins were wrapped around is a happy memento of her essential lethality.

Like a dragon, she watched over her hoard carefully...

I could drop one of those cardboard egg cartons on the floor at night and in the morning, there would be nothing left but shreds on the floor the next morning.

Ayla seems to enjoy biting cardboard too.  I keep Christmas decorations in those sturdy Chewy.com boxes, and she has chewed off all the corners.   So I have bought 6 matching plastic bins to store them.  Lori likes to chew on cardboard too.  But she is more interested in pulling Kleenex tissue out of the box and chewing on the box corners.  It's always corners.  I suppose corners are easier to bite..

But Iza was a champion!  She was the one who shredded any cardboard, unrolled the toilet paper, and  destroyed toys with a vengeance.   I can't count the number of rattley mousies I bought over her years, but she might have kept some company profitable, LOL!

Marley and Laz never do that.  Is it a womancat thing?

Flashback Friday

This week, we look at this week in 2010.

Iza loved to shred cardboard egg cartons...

And lie on her back with her feet on the wall.  Partly to show off her gorgeous silky tummy and partly so that she could push off the wall and surprise Ayla or Marley passing by.

And the most spectacular picture I ever got of Ayla's long whiskers!

Womancat Wensday

IZA:  I love when TBT uses up a 6 egg cardboard carton.  He tosses it on the floor and I immediately ATTACK it!
I tear them apart wif my teef, rip them apart with my claws, an bunny-kick them to pieces.
Fer some strange reason, Ayla and Marley stay out of the kitchen when I am doing that...

One time TBT got his eggs in a sterofoam stirafome funny plastic carton and I was confused.  I ripped it once an it made a hideous noise.  I ran away all poofed!

IZA:  I love to tear apart cardboard egg cartons.
I used to reduce them ta shreds, but now just a few pieces.  Well, Im not a kitten anymore.  I have some self-control.

Egg Carton Fun

IZA: I have a natural destructive streak (more than the usual cat).  When I was young(er), TBT dropped a half egg-carton on the floor and discovered that I immediately tore it to SHREDS.  I just play with them mostly these days, but I still rip them up pretty well.  So far, I havent lost anny tooths.
I LOVE bunny-kicking them.
Chewing wildly is also great!
But, ya know, I would like ta find a REAL LIVE egg carton ta kill someday.  TBT tells me they only live wild at chicken farms, and he doesnt know where anny of THOSE are...
So I can only rip up the dead ones...

BTW, the votes are in.  TBT wont mess with Ayla's clothie-mousie; though he WILL try to re-stuff some other toys with new Nip...  Ayla is relieved; she like her old clothy-mousie JUST as it is.   Purrsonally, Marley and I find it not worth messing with as it is...  ~ Iza
