Flashback Friday

This week 2010 this time.  

Ayla and Iza were calm...

There were a LOT of rattley mice (both Ayla and Iza loved them).  

 And sometime in the night, somecat went nuts and wrecked stuff...  Nocat admitted who, but it was impressive!

TAZ:   I can nap practically annywhere.  Even piles of clutter.

Its clutterred cuz thats our toy corner.

Flashback Friday

This time we revisit this week in 2010! 

Iza had this weird cowlick unless I specifically brushed it down.  I don't think it was from licking. It always occurred in the same place.

A new toy was a favorite.  Both Iza and Ayla liked it.

But Iza got in control of it.

Iza was enjoying the back yard.  Notice the bells on her collar.  I tried those to let me know when she came up behind me (so I wouldn't step back on a paw).  And maybe save a few birds.  But she learned to walk without jingling them.

I bought a foam hut.  It was used at first, but only briefly.  It wasn't a favorite thing.  I gave it away eventually.

None of The Mews then really figured out the turbotrak.  The bridge baffled them.  

I will mention that Binq has become a Master at it.  She can send the ball (s) over the Bridge and sometimes just goes crazy with it.  But I can't seem to find a picture of her doing that.

In the yard, a burning bush was in full "burn".  

It was lovely.  I had 3 around the front yard, but this was the best one.

Binq's Birfday

BINQ:   I am 3 today.  Or maybe 4, we're not sure.  But TBT found this date in my Shelter records, so at least we know it is my birfday!

So I am havin a pawty.  There will be toys, boxes, Nip, food and drinks.

Please feel free to arrive annytime.  One of us are sure to be up!  This is my first birfday here, so we wanna make it a good one...

Thankful Thursday

TBT:   Today I am thankful for moths.  Yes, moths.  Specifically the ones who settle a a few feet up on the outside of the deck door!  Binq goes crazy after them lately and I am thankful they make her happy.  

She jumps several feet up trying to get at them, not understanding they are on the outside of the door.  And she keeps trying to get them (about 15 minutes at a time and over several days so far).

Not great pictures...  It is black outside, Binq is black, and the moths are too small to be seen.  But with some better light in your imagination, you can see what she is seeing...

Loki watches what she is doing, but doesn't try to catch them himself.  

I had some pictures of Binq jumping at the moths, but they were so blurred and dark, there was nothing to see...

Like Binq and the deck mat dragging, Loki doesn't seem to understand what she is seeing.  Binq seems to have a very strong imagination.  She plays with toys many times a day and very actively.  If I make a single tongue-click, she is alerted that a toy will be tossed and is waiting to get at it!  Loki plays with the Nip-Nanner about once a day (and the Nip is all faded by now).  He wants things that move.

But he likes Binq.  So even if she is doing things he doesn't understand, he stays near her and watches.  And often in the night, they will just sit together and stare outside.

I'm not sure what they are seeing out there.  We used to have an occasional possum and sometimes an intruder cat, but I haven't seen them on the deck in a few years.  Wildlife seems to be disappearing.  I think I will post about that on my own blog soon.

But for now, whatever makes Binq and Loki feel like friends, Marley tolerant of everybody, and Lori very gradually calming down, I am thankful.

Womancat Wensday

BINQ:  TBT says the deck mat should be next to the deck door.  I disagree.  I love to pull it all around the room.  Here it is in the kitchen.

And then between the kitchen and TV room.

I like to hide toys under it.

And then go searching for them.  They do move around under there to try to hide, you know.

But I get them back out eventually!  TBT says I am the Princess Of Toys.  I go crazy after them especially at dawn and dimming.

 

Flashback Friday

 Today we go back to this week in 2012.

And because we have 6" of snow on the ground today, we thought we would show you that sometimes Spring comes early.  We had crocuses blooming!

Late Mancat Monday

 LOKI:

We got prezzies yesterday!  TBT reached into the magic box of unopened toys (up on a closet shelf where we cant get to - even me The Climbing King) and pulled out some new ones.  

Binq went crazy on all of them.  She adores all toys.  I went after a few (I like soft clothy ones).  Marley even played with one.  TBT says I should mention about that.  Its a fishy shape where TBT can stuff Nip in.  And Marley remembers it because he arrived here with it as a kitten.  

Lori liked the springs TBT pulled out of the box.  

But also, we are getting fancy new litterboxes..  But they are still inside the shipping box.  TBT needs to go make his own dinner or he will fall down..  He gets 2 a day; we get 6.  How he stays big is beyond my unnerstandin...

Thankful Thursday

 LAZ:  Im not big on toys, but sometimes I like this one.  Im not sure what it is, but I carry it around in my mouf sometimes and drop and push it around.  There is an old Nip-Nanner too.

But Id rther catch a mousie outside...

Birfday Pawty!

 MARLEY:  Today is my 13th Birfday!  And I feel GREAT.  OK, maybe I hop more than run these days but "running" around the yard really isn't important.

And Lori turned 2 on the 3rd.  So we are having a mutual Birfday Pawty!

TBT said he would provide a lot of food.  So there is a whole lot of deboned boiled chicken (no nasty spices), some shrimps, and some chopped up bacon.  And we have a lot of fresh Nip.  

And TBT will have a pocketfull of treats ta toss around every now and then ta suprise everycat.

There will be games and ladders and boxes too of course...

And for "new or nervous climbers"...

And toys galore!

And if any of you are OK outside, I and Laz will show you the best backyard spots to explore fer mousies.  We have a lot of them.

Lori and Ayla will manage the inside.  Though Lori might join in the mousie-hunting some.

TBT will make the 4 litterboxes are clean and that there is plenty of good foods aside from the special ones.

Pawty starts at midnight and goes to the next midnight.  But if you are too worn out ta telport home, there are the trees ta nap in.  

And we have a final surprise!  The TV will be showing "Cat-Sitter" DVD all day.  Mousies, birdies, hamsters and you can paw at the screen all you want!

Ayla's Sweet Sixteen Birthday Pawty

 AYLA:  I reached 16 today.  I am SO thrilled.  Well, OK, I do like to relax...

With TBTs help, I am throwing a Grand Pawty with all new foods and drinks.  The drinks are all catnippy.  The meats are various...  This year, I am going all-out on the food!

Join me for the day (or 2).  Eat everything.  Drink nips.  This is a day (or 2)  to celebrate! 

Toys abound.  Rattley mice, springs, balls.  Ladders and boxes are everywhere.

Later, after daylight, any cats allowed outside can join in a mousie hunt (we have plenty).  And ones we catch can be dropped in the baftub for only-indoor kitties ta enjoy chasing around.  There might even be some croaky frogs! 

It is truly time ta come visit by tunnel, or through the TV or however ya do it.  Join the pawty...
