TBT: I am thankful today as well. Binq is adjusting to home better. For the first months, she used to just sort of hide in The Mews Room. And didn't want to even go out on the deck as if it was a scary place.
Months ago, she started exploring the main areas of the house. Well, OK, she used the basement litterboxes (she is a good clean womancat), but she did it only at night in private.
Then she started wandering around the house when things were calm. And finally started sitting on the arm of the TV chair when I was sitting there. I gave her lots of attention when she did that. And she liked that.
She has been going out on the deck eagerly more recently. And yesterday, I saw her at the bottom of the deck stairs sniffing around. That is a great improvement in her confidence.
Previously, the most attention I could get from her was on the arm of the TV chair (and I had to be careful about how I touched her). Then she started coming into the bedroom when I got up. She began to dance around and ask for scritchies as I got dressed for the day, Yay.
But last night, she made a big adjustment! She came into the bedroom while I was laying there in bed! Seeking more attention. And she actually spent several hours laying next to me. I can't tell you what a thrill that was. But I have a couple of pictures...
It was special few hours just having her there close by. I hope someday soon, she will move from the arm of the TV chair to my lap. But if she feels safe going outside off the deck and sleeping next to me on the bed at night, that is very good for now. 😊
