Synchronized tails - Taz and Binq...
Ooh, we just realized we got our days mixed up! We thought this was Tuesday...
Synchronized tails - Taz and Binq...
TAZ: I was just enjoying The Lap.
Binq was nearby. I dont mind that at all.
She doesnt get on it. Lori was out. Marley was sleeping...
TAZ: I like the seat of the chair.
Binq prefers the top. But since it is Twofur Tuesday, here are both of us on our spots on the chair...
Well, OK, a little less competition for it is easier...
BINQ: More fun with the egg...
TBT: A few weeks old, but I hate not using pics. We had a snowstorm that was supposed to be "2 inches" and turned into about 6". So I shoveled a quick path across the deck for The Mews.
It was rather warmish in the morning, so the path was actually clear and dry later. Binq is sensible; she stayed on the path. I was surprized to see Taz walk on the snow. He usually hates that. But he likes to sit on the deck rails, so he was planning a jump. Worth the cold paws, I guess.
I used the snow-blower to clear the driveway afterwards. Love that thing! I shoveled too much snow when I was younger...
TAZ: Binq is a good friend. TBT put down a new box and I went right in. But Lori approached it, wanting it for herself. So Binq came over and sat in front. Lori likes ta annoy either of us (hip and head tapping), but not both of us.
BINQ: A few days ago, we had some snow. It was very little, so Taz and I went out and walked around on it. We aren't very familiar with the stuff. When we sniffed it, we learned it was just water.
But it is very cold water! Our paws complained... Taz tried getting up on a brick, but that wasn't much better. We came in after just a couple minutes. We dont like the stuff.
TBT: I've mentioned not knowing anything about their previous lives. The shelter said that they were just delivered, and left behind a few weeks before I adopted them. And I adopted them in late November 2023 and didn't let them outside until the next Spring AND last Winter was snowless. So they may not have ever seen snow, much less walked on it.
This was probably a brand new experience for them.
But yesterday we got some real snow! That's tomorrow's post...
TAZ: I haven't been here a year yet, so there are a limited number of pictures of "just me" ta show.
There were some comments and emails about my Birfday Monday. And I am thankful for those. But I thought I should add more memories.
I did pretty well in the Shelter Community Room (and so did Binq but we weren't special friends at the time). Some kitties just hid from the Bein visitors and some wouldn't greet Beins at all.
But when TBT visited and just sat down in the middle of the room, Binq and I just ran right over to him. We could tell he was "OK". I was all talky and touchy. Binq literally danced around him. No other kitties came near. Not even the one he came there to see.
Which left him in a confussin situation. He arrived only wanting one (as a Orange/Ginger male friend to Lori (but we dint know that then). So he couldn't decide. I was the definite choice. But Binq was dancing around him and pushing her head into his hands. So he told the Shelter Beins he would take both of us.
They were thrilled. We were thrilled. I mean, the Shelter Community Room was good, but kinna small an with a a dozen of us in one room. And some of the other kitties there were not really friendly.
So when TBT took us home and put Binq and I in a room, that seemed peaceful and safe. Good food and private litterboxes too. Binq and I became more attuned to each other in those few days. No fussies. And when he let us out to meet Lori and Marley, we discovered we were in a great big house.
Binq kinna stayed in the room for more days but I went right out. Marley was so accepting. Lori not so much. But hey, better than the Shelter Community Room, right? Binq did come out, but she mostly likes the room we were in at first.
In Spring, TBT let me outside in the PTU to sniff. And eventually let me free to look at The Big Back Yard while he followed me around. It was scary at first but after being carried around, I understood that the yard was sort of "part of our new house". And I liked it!
Binq took a lot longer to even feel safe on the deck, but she did enjoy it after some encouragement from Marley and me. And even today, she seldom leaves the deck.
Our Gotcha Day is still a couple of big moons away, but we are both happy here. I wish Lori would calm down, but it seems a previous cat didnt treat her well an she is still suspicious. I hope that changes someday.
Some pictures of our 1st day...
So Binq and I are both very thankful...
BINQ: TBT has been trying ta decide on Taz and My birthdays. He decided from what few records we have that both of us were born in May. And so was TBT oh so many years ago. So he has decided to declare we all share the same birthdate!
We are thrilled to share it. While our Gotcha Day is really more impawtant (and the same for both of us kitties), birfdays are good too. So we are happy to share our "official" birfday with him. And, at least that way, he won't forget it!
Win/win, MOL
It hasn't been a year yet, but we are happy here.
My first day out of the Shelter...
And Taz's (he got the PTU since he was only expecting to bring one home if at all)...
We spent some days in The Mews Room getting use ta the smells and sounds of our new home.
But we haven't had a birfday party yet here. TBT says he will go all out fer us (and him). But May is a way away! Gotcha day is closer (November) so we are looking ahead of time forward ta that!
And Happy International Cat Day to all!
All the kinds of us...
TAZ: We are just both just sitting around the TV chair waiting fer TBT ta come sit down in it.
