Flashback Friday

Actually, this is different.  It is "Flashback Friday Flashback Friday".  It is a flashback TO 2019 of a flashback of 2011.  Same week as this, but of 2 separate years...  ðŸ˜¸

Flashback Friday

MARLEY:   Well, this week in 2011,  I was enjoying a good game of mousie tag.  "Tag, youre it"!

They arent very good at it though, because they never come back to tag ME.  So I have to tag them AGAIN!

So I just stood real close to make it easier for one ta tag ME.

But after a while they just sleep for a long time...

LOL!

Flashback Friday

TBT:  Back in this week 2012, there was a lot of Iza.

The Mews were going in and out a lot on a warm December day ( ans focussed on a vole somecat caught).

And for once, they didn't try to bring it into the house.

And later Iza showed off her toesies and claws.

I always loved the reddish-purple color.

They were lethally sharp for mousies, but never to me.

She was loving The Lap.

Fell asleep on it when I watched TV.

I sure miss those days...

Womancat Wensday

LORI:   Well, it is Ayla and me 2 days in a row!

I caught a mousie.  And I realized Ayla was quietly coming up behind me!  She MIGHT have been wanting ta grab it (she doesnt go out hunting much these days).

So I just turned and looked at her until she backed off...

Then I went back to waiting fer the mousie to move again so we could play more.

It didn't...

Hunting

LORI:  OK, I got some replies about hunting birdies and frogs and I should catch mousies.  So I went out and caught a mousie.

It was a challenge.  Mousies are faster than frogs, and birdies are just dumb in a bush if you are quiet.  Mousies hide better.  But I got one!

Mousie Monday

LORI:   Laz leaves mousies all around the deck somedays.  I investigate them, but I dont actually like the smell of them much.  I wish he would catch a chick-hen or a toona instead...

Twofer Tuesday

AYLA:  Well, I know I said previously that "food in the bowl is worth 2 mousies in the weeds", but sometimes you catch one too!  And TBT even SAW ME catch it, so that was really good.  I ran right up on the deck to give it to him.  I usually play with them until they get all tired, but I just dropped this one at his feet so HE could play.  It was still very energetic.

He did "OK".  He uses his back feet.  He kept shoving it back toward me.  Well, Ive seen Beins play a game on TV where they only use their feet, so maybe thats more normal for them.

It even jumped off the deck, but he went down and found it and chased it around on the ground (I had fun watching).  But he DID catch it and bring it back up.  Those long arms seem pretty useful (and oddly quick).  And sometimes I think Beins are better at seeing things that dont move.

Well, I got it for HIM, so I just watched.
Actually, I got ahead of my story there.  When I brought it up originally, I wanted to bring it in the house, but he closed the door suddenly.  I actually banged my head on it!  Later, when it was dedded, he let Marley bat it around a few times.
THEN he let me bring it in.  I batted it...
We both watched it.
Ah, no fun anymore!
And THATS when TBT took it away for himself.  He often does that with our food contributions.  Actually, he doesn't seem to like us watching him eat his regular meals.  He shares food from the kitchen counter, but once it is on a plate on the table or he takes food we bring him into the front yard, he prefers we leave him be.

Well, I did MY part for the day...

Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  I was a busy boy Saturday.  TBT opened the deck door in the late afternoon and found a pile of gray fevvers on the deck mat AND a mousie butt!

Just his bad luck the camera battery was recharging,  Not MY problem...  In the morning, the mousie butt was gone, so he dint get a picture.  Mz Possum had probly come around during the night; she cleans up stuff like that...

Caturday Saturday

Tis the season...

WARNING - Very Slow Mousie ahead!

We dont want to post too many pictures of dedded prey.  TBT likes that we tend to catch invasive sparrows and starlings, and that we get some garden-destroying rabbits while they are young.  But we get REWARDED when we catch nasty moles. voles, and mice!

We got extra treats for this one.

My Clothy-Mousie

AYLA:  After reading comments about my clothy-mouse yesserday,  I thought mebbe I should talk about it more.  Its nothing but some cloth.  In fact, it is SO old, TBT doesnt even remember who it first belonged to; probly Skeeter when he was young, but possibly even Tinkerbelle, which makes it about 20 years old or a bit more.
Clothy-mouse was almost certainly stuffed with Nip originally, but there is none of that left.  And its not really even as thick as it looks here; TBT had ta actally fluff it up a bit ta get it ta stand up fer the picture.
He THINKS it originally had little pink ears, a longer yarn tail (well, DUH -there are still shreds of THAT), black yarn whiskers, and (very mebbe) pink feet.  Whatever, I adore it!!!  I carry it all around the house (mostly in early morning while TBT is trying ta sleep) and I merf loudly while I do.  TBT can always tell I am "carrying mousie".  He usually smiles hearing me doing that, but after a while  he calls ta me ta tell me ta stop fer a while and come fer scritches.
We are currently trying ta decide whether or not to "fix" clothy-mousie.  He says his poor sewing skills WOULD allow him to open clothy-mousie at the back, stuff in dried nip, add a new tail, and (mebbe) add new ears.

I'm not sure.  MEBBE it would be better afterwards, but mebbe not.  And this is the ONLY mousie I like.  It would be risky.  I might not like it then, and Iza might like it MORE.

What do YOU think?  Should I ask TBT to "fix" clothy-mousie?
