I mentioned previously that Marley's sub Q fluid injections have been going well and have had a positive effect. And while I still don't feel "routine" about it, I have been doing it successfully.
Well I messed up the most recent time. Sometimes the old needle is hard to remove from the drip line. I had to use a plier to remove the recent one. And managed to stab myself! Ouch, but there was no bleeding. Well, for about 5 minutes... I don't know why there was a delay.
But by that time, I already had Marley injected and the line was dripping, so I couldn't exactly stop and get a bandage. Fortunately, I was wearing camo pants. And kept wiping the blood off on them. Well, who would notice blood on camo?
Afterwards, I dressed the wound with triple ointment and a bandage. Sadly, the large finger bandages I have are not very waterproof. I do a lot of food prep, and every time I touch raw meat, I wash my hands. I had to replace it and wrap electric tape over it (that worked).
And things didn't get better after that. Marley "leaked" fluid for 2 hours. Oh, not anything near as much as I injected, but I must have done something wrong. I think I didn't get the scruff of his neck up properly. I think I need to inject him at slightly different spots each time.Marley didn't complain about it, but I did have to use a tissue to wipe a few wet spots.
Good news is that my finger seems healed (I am a fast healer) and Marley stopped leaking (so he is a fast healer too). But sometimes, things just go wrong!
Sorry about no pictures this time...
