Mike Post - SHRIMP NIGHT YAHOO!

MIKE:

SHRIMP NIGHT, SHRIMP NIGHT, SHRIMP NIGHT... Nothing gets you over a bad no-picture shopping day like SHRIMPS. REAL LIVE DEAD SHRIMPS!

I am going to faint. The Big Thing even WARMED The real live dead SHRIMP! Not cooked, just warmed. like they were even "just" dead. No wonder Skeeter, LC, and Ayla go a bit crazy on shrimp night!

They trade bowls, they run around each other... I'm not surprised. I tried to hold on to my own bowl, but even I ended up at another one. Their "enthusiasum" for shrimp is temporarily contagious.

I have learned that Skeeter and LC are pretty laid-back cats most of the time, but if you want to eat around here, you have to be a bit protective about it. The weerd thing is that they get plenty of food, just attack it when it shows up. There is always some left over, ya know?

Ayla has challenged me to a climbing contest later tonight. That should be interesting... I'm a good climber, but she is a Meezer after all, born to it. Well, we'll see... (heh, heh, heh)

Mike Post - Thursday 13 +7!

MIKE:

Interview time. I keep 20 standard questions I ask all the great kitties I visit (and they are all great)! So they are more than "13", OK? Is more bad? MOL!

1. How long have you lived with your bean(s)?

Skeeter 15 years; LC 14 years; Ayla 1.5 months.

2. Do you have a favorite bean?

Skeeter and LC – The Big Thing. Ayla - well, I really liked the Mom an Dad at my born-home, but Im getting used ta The Big Thing. He is scritchy and warm.

3. What's your favorite food?

Skeeter and LC – 9 lives Tuna. Ayla – Any Fancy Feast Medley.

4. What's your favorite treat?

Skeeter – HAM. LC – Live little fishies. Ayla – Innova Evo crunchies

5. Where do you like to sleep?

We all like to sleep on an around The Big Thing on the warm waterbed at night. In the mornings, there is an inside doormat where the sun shines…

6. Do you dream? What are your dreams about?

All – treats! LC – And bein outside!

7. Do you like fluffheads, you know, those crafty little creatures with fiberfill for brains?

Mike is the first intelligent one we met. The dumb big ones around we jus ignore, the little dumb ones are jus toys. But cause a Mike, we are gonna see if we can “wake up” some of the big ones.

8. How many fluffheads live with you and your bean?

Two paws worth of toesies?

9. Do you get along with your fluffheads? Really?

Except fer Mike, not really. They nefer talk to us.

10. Do have a special fluffhead friend?

MIKE!

11. Do your fluffheads ever talk to you? Do they talk to your beans, you know, like I can transmit my thoughts to one special bean in my house?

No. 

12. You have a very nice place here; tell me about your weather and your surroundings, what is it like outside your house? (Mountains, seaside, desert, woods, etc.)

The weather gets hot then cold then hot again. Useta be snow in cold, but not fer a few years. It sometimes gets so hot we pant outside an drink LOTSA water. Our Big Enclosed Back Yard has cool places. Big trees, shrubby places to shade under, think flowery plants to sneak around in, 2 ponds to look at fishies in and hunt froggies around. Some birdfeeders that are excitin to watch. Squirrels, moles, and mousies.

13. Are you an inside only cat or do you get to go outside?

We all get to go outside “sometimes” (Ayla not much yet). Skeeter and LC – We get to go out in daytime when we want (only an hour or less at a time). Skeeter – I get to go out in the dark, but only cause I jus wanna sit on the deck fer a while).

14. Do you keep secrets from your beans? Sometimes Gretchen and I conspire against her mom bean in the middle of the night. It really freaks her out. Do you do things like that?

Sorry, we can’t mention that here where The Big Thing might read. ;) But, of course, we’re cats, so draw yer own conclusions…

15. Have you been gifted with any hidden talents?

Skeeter – I know when The Big Thing is asleep an I can really surprise him by sneezin inhis face. LC – I catch frogs with ease. When they are getting a bit fewer, I toss em back inna pond to make more froggies. Ayla – When The Big Thing tosses a toy up on somethin I cant see the toy? I know perzactically where it is an can jump right up on it!

16. Is there anything in your house that bothers you? That you're afraid of?

THE SUCKY MACHINE! Skeeter and LC – The PTU that brings us into the noisey turny car thingie that brings us to the V-E-T! Ayla – nothin so far…

17. Do you stalk and capture real live critters like mice, spiders and stuff? What kinds of critters do you stalk? Do you eat what you catch?

Skeeter – Mousies and birdies and bunnies (and well, moths). I eat any I can get. I get mostly mousies. LC – Frogs mostly, but I find the odd mousie sometimes. I’ll take a birdie, but I only get those if they fly into a window. I don’t like moths (fuzzymouth, yuck). Ayla – I almos got a window-birdie. I’d like to aktally taste one!

18. Do you have siblings or housemates? Do you get along with them?

Skeeter and LC – Well, we get along wif each other great. We wrassle sometimes, but groom and sleep together right after. We’re not sure bout Ayla yet. Ayla – I hafnt got to sleep wif Skeeter or LC directly yet (We are sometimes all aroun The Big Thing at night but I havent been allowed to sleep cuddled wif THEM yet). The Big Thing says I hafta be “patient. I hafnt figured out the “groomin” thing yet.

19. Do you have a sweetheart?

No. Skeeter and LC - We both have a favorite kittie or two that we like ta visit specially, but not “that way”. Ayla – The Big Thing says I’m too young fer that mushy stuff.

20. What is your most fun activity?

Skeeter – Chasin squirrels. I nefer catch em, but they are great to chase. And sleepin on The Big Things lap. Catchin those unnerground mousies. LC – Stalkin froggies; nefer gets old! Runnin the whole length of the yard… Ayla – TOYS TOYS TOYS!

Mike Post - Thursday

MIKE:

We visited PetsMart today! Skeeter, LC, and Ayla chose not to go, because there are often big woofies there. I wasn't worried though.

Here is the PetsMart store we went to. It looked real big.

So we went in. Here I am waiting for The Big Thing to catch up. I had fun walking back and forth in front of the automatic door opener and making the door slide back and forth. Then we went inside.

Well guess what? WE WEREN'T ALLOWED TO TAKE ANY PICTURES! The Big Thing even found the Store Manager Bein himself and explained the reason, but it was just "NO" and "COMPANY POLICY".

So, TBT showed me around the store. There were whole lines of shelves of all kinds of cat food, toys, kitty trees and beds. I was amazed. There were rows of fishie tanks too just FULL of tasty, err, "pretty" fishies. Some were quite large. There were lots of birdies, too. They looked, um, "pretty" too.

But we decided not to buy anything, since they were being mean about the picture-taking.

Here I am leaving. I annoyed their door-opening machine a few more times just for spite...

We were going to go to WalMart, but then realized I wasn't even ALLOWED in there (geez, I'm probably smarter and cleaner than some of the Bein customers).

It was all kind of a shame, cause I got all dressed up in my best hat and sweater. I felt mostly bad for TBT, since he went to all that trouble. But at least I did see all the neat things in the store, even if I can't show you any pictures...

On the way home, TBT reminded me that tonight was SHRIMP night (We all forgot it was supposed to be yesterday). And he says he has an idea for an even BETTER trip tomorrow, though it takes some driving. So he is gonna put a litterbox in the car "just in case" and some water and dry treats in the car. He is even going to bring a picture book of cat jokes for me to look at during the drive. I'll probably just nap, but it is a nice gesture.
